The smell of damp and mould hit you on opening the door. Mould on main bedroom wall and in bathroom. Blind in spare room mouldy. Rugs dirty. Freezer iced up. Patio door unable to be used. We came home after two days because of the state of the place, therefore ruining our holiday.

"Lovely little cottage and kitchen well equipped, it's a nice quiet area close to a nice tearoom and shop at the community centre and the steam packet inn is well worth a visit, serving lovely food and a wonderful collection of locally brewed ales and beer from the five kindoms brewery."
The only downside of this property was the smell of damp as we entered and the obvious damp on the bedroom wall. And the fact that the patio door couldn't be opened (being able to sit with patio doors open in the evenings was a selling point for us when booking )

Only negatives were no towel rail or radiator in the bathroom and the shower wasn't very powerful.

A short walk to the village shop cafe and a lovely pub serving quality food overlooking the harbour . No internet but a free service at the pub & cafe . We loved our stay here and it's a fantastic area to explore . My Wife did many days out cycling on quiet roads whilst my preference was a pint overlooking the boats outside the pub. Easy to recommend a stay here.

"We had a good stay, the property is maybe a little 'tired'."
Some of the double glazing units have failed. Our biggest problem was the slugs which come in during the night. They roam all over the worktops and cupboards. This meant everything had to be disinfected before we could make breakfast. This did spoil our stay.
Thankyou for your feedback
I am very sorry about your experience with the slugs, a problem which I thought was addressed. I will revisit and resolve this immediately.
With regard to the property looking tired, I am aware of the failed double glazing units and these are scheduled to be replaced in the off season; the back door being replaced just 2 months ago.
I should point out that the property has benfitted from a new kitchen, including the new back door, new flooring throughout, some new furniture and redecoration of the whole property.

Community shop and café close by. For more shops and a place very much of historical interest is Whithorn, which is 3.5 miles inland. We had a great holiday exploring the area, and gnats were not a problem, but we did get a few bites from horse flies.

"This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this property and it is good value and cosy."
The location is perfect. The heating in the property has improved from last year and we were nice and warm.
A couple of improvements would be a new mattress in the main bedroom as it is a bit lumpy. Also, WiFi would be great as the mobile phone signals are not always good in the area and we had to go to the pub or cafe to access WiFi. The instructions in the house could be better. We could not find a recycling box so had to put our recycling in the bin which was a shame. However, we do love the Laigh Isle complex and would not hesitate in staying here again.

"Didn't like the fact that the holiday let smelt of dog when we arrived and that our towels were still wet and hanging over a wooden clothes drier, the kids bunk-beds were not made and I struggled to climb to make them."
, cleaner needs to look up, old cobwebs on spotlights in kitchen. In the kitchen the worktop juts out and both my grandchildren had grazed arms having got caught by It so the wooden drier spent the remainder of the holiday in front of said worktop so no more accidents. But all in all we had a great holiday and the holiday let was lovely and detached, with plenty of outside space for a nine and six yr old to run around and just a short walk to the harbor and pebbled beach, Ideal for skimming stones, the local pub had good meals and we ate there several times, the local shop/post office/ cafe was a five minute walk away. The owner of the let gave me quite a few good places to take the kids to and they weren't disappointed.

!). We enjoyed being there for a fortnight. That Isle of Whithorn is very lovely, but also very lonely which we knew beforehand. Although we had planned being there and walking with our dog which we had to put to sleep two months before, we made beautiful hiking tours and had a very recreating time in this house and Whithorn.
The house was in very good order and the communication with our landlord worked out fine.

Only slight downside is no wifi, although this was cheerfully provided by the local pub. Don't expect wild nightlife (although there's plenty of night wildlife), but if you're after peace and quiet and plenty of fresh air, it's just the place.
