  • "Pretty much perfect on all counts!"

Couldn’t get the oven to work but the grill was sufficient for our Yorkshire puddings

I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay. Just a reminder that all our guest can contact us about anything during their stay. I’ll ask cleaning services to double check the oven. it is a double oven and all instruction manuals are in a file in the kitchen if you need them. Property Owner

  • "Milburn cottage is beautiful, we had a great Christmas here, parking is a bit awkward as the neighbours asked us to move the cars around a few times but nothing we couldn't sort out, we had to boil a pan to make a cuppa as the kettle didn't work."

Minor details really as the beauty of this place really is amazing. It has everything you could possibly need, a real home from home. We are looking to book again in the summer.

We are so pleased you had a lovely Christmas at the cottage, it is such a beautiful part of the world. We have replaced the kettle and are always happy to replace faulty things (and we can do this during the stay). We look forward to welcoming you back in the summer. Property Owner

  • "Property was great, would have been top marks across the boards but for the en-suite shower stuck on scolding hot and not fixed before we left and parking being limited to 1 car, but there was on street parking available."

That’s said we would recommend the cottage to others.

Thank you for your feedback. We arranged a plumber as soon as possible, and he was able to call whilst you were in the property. The shower has now been fixed and all the problems resolved. Just to clarify there is parking for 2 cars off-road, with further on-street parking. Information about parking can be found in the property manual in the cottage. I am pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the location. Property Owner

About the location

DALBEATTIE

Castle Douglas 6 miles; Kirkcudbright 13.5 miles; Dumfries 14 miles.

The attractive country town of Dalbeattie is nestled in the south west of Scotland. The town sits within a wooded valley on the River Urr and provides access to the picturesque Solway Coast with its miles of beaches and pretty fishing villages. Dalbeattie is originally known for its granite quarry, which exported stone all over the world, most notably for the Eddystone Lighthouse and Thames Embankment. Today it is renowned for its outdoor activities with the world famous 7stanes mountain biking complex nearby as well as forest walks in Glentrool, where you can follow in the footsteps of Richard Hannay in The Thirty Nine Steps. Dalbeattie and the surrounding area offer panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Lake District and the Galloway Hills. A great location, which has something for everyone.
