Location: Glenosheen Near Ardpatrick, County Limerick

Ardpatrick 2miles; Kilfnane 4 miles.

Glenosheen, originally built by a colony of Palatine settlers, sits below the Ballyhoura mountains, just 2 miles from the village of Ardpatrick, named after Ireland’s patron saint, St Patrick. The saint is reputed to have built a church on the hill that overlooks the village and the remnants of this still exist today. 4 miles from Glenosheen and 6 miles southeast of Kilmallock sits the market town of Kilfnane, the highest town in County Limerick. Kilfnane boasts an excellent outdoor education centre for school, youth and adult groups with a wide range of adventure sports and courses including canoeing, rockclimbing, hillwalking, horseriding and abseiling to name but a few! County Limerick is rich in history and inheritance with its castles, museums and medieval churches. Rural charm with plenty to do and visit! A must for all the family.

Mr Mullaghan, Ballymoney, July 2010

The area is surrounded by wood trails and mountains; fantastic walks. Whole area - Glenosheen/Kilmallock/Kilfinane steeped in history. The caretaker - absolutely lovely lady, could not have been more helpful. Nothing too much - charming and courteous! Garden = disused farm yard but very good
