  • "Enjoyed our week stay despite some indifferent weather."

The cottage is spacious well equipped and tastefully furnished. Our only regret is not being able to make full use of the garden which I'm sure would be a great way to spend your evenings weather permitting. The owners Richard and Carol provide a lovely welcoming variety of niceties and should you require anything are available during your stay. We would recommend this property to anyone with a family and pets such as ourselves. Feedback left by Jackie, Dave, daughter Nikki, Warren and Theo the grandkids and Aggie and Maggie our dogs.

Thank you so much for your very kind and upbeat comments in spite of the awful weather you had last week. Just goes to show how ideally placed we are if the weather doesn’t behave! Property Owner

  • "We had an unforgettable Christmas holiday thanks to Richard and Carol."

There was a great Christmas decoration and tree especially for us , enough wood for the fireplace for our stay, which made the house even more cosy . The home was very nice , clean and comfortable. The owners had left us delicious Cornish welcome goodies and they were so kind and very helpful. Good location and many interesting places to visit around. Thank you for a great stay.

Thank you for your kind comments . We do make an enormous effort to make your stay with us special. Property Owner

  • "This home was very well prepared and extremely clean, the owners have put a lot of effort in to welcome visitors."

We have to lose a star in our review for 2 reasons, parking is a nightmare across a road with few spaces available, and having dogs in such a cared for property we felt unable to have them in the lounge with us (as they are used to doing at home) in case they left too many hairs around..

  • "A truly lovely cottage."

Everything there that you could need. Lovely well kept garden which was nice to sit in and safe for the dogs. Owners left us so many good things, and they kept in touch to check all was ok. So comfortable and cosy, our only grouse was the lack of a light on the landing which was very dark and close to bedroom door and top stair. Also the road could be a problem to some, although not busy but had very fast traffic. However, would not stop us from returning. A great holiday.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. You will be pleased to know I have put the landing light on the to do list! We are always grateful to people who recognise the efforts we put in and Carol’s attention to detail and finishing touches. Thanks again for such nice feedback. Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage that was a great base to explore Devon and Cornwall."

Well equipped with everything you need, clean and comfortable. Host provided a cream tea and the basics (bread, butter, milk, etc) which was a really nice touch. Our family of four had a great time. Would definitely stay again.

Wow! Such kind comments. Trevalba is ideally suited to those who want to see Devon and Cornwall away from the usual tourist trail. Walkers, hikers, cyclists find it ideal as a base. Would be lovely to see you again and thanks once more for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "When we arrived at our holiday cottage it was beautiful."

In a very quiet setting and with an enclosed garden, perfect for our girls to play in, that is not overlooked. Richard and Carol had left us the most perfect welcoming gift, which went down very well after a long drive. The house is clean and very well equipped, it is comfortable, warm and after a long day jumping waves on sandy beaches the shower is absolutely divine. Richard and Carol were in touch with us, just to make sure we were enjoying our stay, nothing was too much for them. They clearly care about each person's stay at this beautiful holiday cottage. I would highly recommend this property and hope to stay again in the future.

Thanks for your lovely comments. Yes we do care deeply for every one of our guests who entrust us with their holiday arrangements. We aim to achieve total satisfaction as the majority of our feedback shows. Carol and I often spend 3 hours on a changeover day so 6 hours in total making sure everything is immaculate and how you should expect. It would be great to see you again one day and the welcome will be just as warm! Property Owner

  • "A lovely welcome package, the cream tea was amazing."

A wonderfully clean and welcoming cottage with everything you could need. The whole property felt well maintained and the was also new shower suite. Also a good size secure garden garden. Richard kept in touch to make sure we settled in and on hand for anything that we may have required. The Rifle Volunteer bar and restaurant 5 minutes drive away does excellent food and a good selection.

Thank you for your positive comments. It’s a shame the Rifle Volunteer is not a little closer. Although a 15 minute walk each side of one of their meals and some of Cornwall’s best ales is probably essential! We always try to maintain an 5 star attitude to ensure our guests have a more than positive experience. Property Owner

Thank you or should I say merci beaucoup for your kind comments! Property Owner

  • "In general the cottage was good and the host was very attentive and supportive, so we were very happy and thought it was value for money."

Just three observations: 1. the first floor landing could do with a light. 2. it would be handy to have a clothes maid for drying indoors when the weather is bad. 3. I would suggest that there is a second full length hand rail to the stairs or possibly extend the additional short chrome hand rail.

The bedrooms were perfect for ourselves and 2 teenage grandchildren, the bed soooohhh comfortable. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it yo anyone wanting to explore Corneall. • "I was a bit worried about a previous review saying that Richard and Carol make you really welcome because that sounded like they were on site or nearby and I wasn't sure how I felt about that but it is testament to their commitment to giving you a fabulous holiday that they are the most lovely & welcoming people you will never meet!"

It is a real skill & gift they have for making you feel like a valued guest and letting you know your concerns are their concerns without it being claustrophobic. The cottage is, as the other reviews say, just perfect. It is comfy and has everything you need. The DVD selection pleased our tricky teens as well as us boring middle aged folk. I did a reasonable amount of cooking, had everything I needed and it is great kitchen - enough space to prep but you haven't run a marathon when you've finished. The welcome goodies were a delight as well as bits like hand wash and washing up liquid that you don't always get. A home from home? Yes, but cleaner! I actually came away wishing I could meet Richard and Carol to thank them properly, in person! Thank you for a great stay!

It has a lovely new kitchen with everything you'll need. The bathroom is also new with a lovely powerful shower. The bedrooms are all decent sizes for a cottage with comfy beds. The owners Richard and Carol can't do enough to make you feel welcome. They left a lovely array of essential food items upon arrival and if you have any issues they will resolve them. • "Had a fabulous week at this lovely cottage with my husband two children and our dog, Hugo."

The cottage has everything you need and is like home from home. It has a very welcoming feel to the place and we loved sitting in the garden in the late evening having spent the day at the beach, making use of the BBQ. We used the cottage as a base and preferred to travel to Newquay and Padstow so didn't explore Gunnislake itself but the cottage was perfect for us. We loved the fresh flowers in the window and fresh scones with the little welcome pack. Would definitely stay there again ! Thankyou again to the owners that checked on us during our stay to make sure everything was OK.
