  • "We have been coming to Men an Tol for many years and love it so much that we will come back again and again."

It is so comfortable and very much a home from home for us. The current owners have made good improvements and we especially liked the updated information booklet which made everything easy to understand. It would have been top marks across the board except for the really cramped en suite bathroom. We are quite small people so it’s ok for us but ‘normal’ to bigger people would not be able to use it . There is a shower room which is fine for anyone.

Also more maintenance needs looking at due to the fact a light fitting in the en-suite fell to the floor, also quite a few light bulbs were out.Bed duvets were far to hot for time of year, and no other options available.

We were very happy with the stay and would definitely come back again. We sat looking at the view with a smile on our faces. Great parking, ideal position for the railway and beach. A 30 odd minute walk to St Ives which is lovely. Make sure you book for the Carbis Bay restaurants. One thing: do the instructions for getting hot water need updating? They didn’t make sense. Small matter for a wonderful much needed break. Thank you

  • "Great location with amazing views."

We have a lovely time staying at the cottage and overall had a great experience. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for us to enjoy. Some things to add which don't need to be in the public domain but I feel are useful as feedback. Issue with Sky which was well dealt with but disappointing nonetheless. Water temperature in en-suite shower was too variable; oscillated between warm and hot. This continued after the heating engineer had been out. 'Well marked parking bay 4' wasn't marked at all-not a problem as there was plenty of parking but it's good to get the little things right in your paperwork. Likewise the padded envelope for the key return was not available; we used the key safe but creates a little anxiety for not doing the correct thing.

Dear Mr Bennett, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback to us. Its great to hear you had a lovely stay. In regard to the points you have raised; firstly we would like to apologise for the Sky, and we are glad to hear you felt we dealt with this well. We always endeavor to resolve the issues that are reported to us as soon as possible, so that any findings don't have an impact on your stay. The team, here in the local office, are always here to help, when needed. We will review the signage for the parking and please be assured that we will replace missing signage if needed. Once again, we hope you had a wonderful holiday and we look forward to inviting you back in the future. Kind Regards, Owner Relations, Carbis Bay Holidays Property Owner

  • "The single mattress was hard and very uncomfortable."

The wifi is prehistoric and unuseable. The sky box has an intermittent signal fault which limits the channels you are able to view. The toilet in the ensuite is too close to the bath and side wall that it is unuseable. The floor boards in the hallway next to the bedrooms are so squeaky that if you need to go to the toilet in the night you wake everyone up.

Dear Mark, Firstly, we would like to thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We have passed your feedback across to the relevant in house departments; we will be sure to look into the points you have raised. Sincerely hope you had a lovely holiday and we hope to invite you back in the future. Kindest Regards, Chaela Property Owner

  • "“We had a lovely visit at Men an Tol, we couldn't fault the apartment what so ever, The apartment was amazing, very clean, The decor was superb and the attention to detail was impressive."

We very much appreciated the bottle of bubbly, milk and apple juice that was left for us, we thought that was a very nice touch. We felt very comfortable and very 'at home' my 9 year old son loved the Playstation in his room!. It seemed that there was no expense spared and you (or owners) are obviously looking at the bigger picture, having complimentary sky, wifi is just the start, the towels were luxurious, so too was the bedding, even the saucepans and crockery were quality, this certainly makes a huge difference to your stay, and most definitely exceeded our expectations, None of us wanted to leave! We would (and already have) told all our friends how impressed we were with the accommodation and would have no hesitation in recommending your company. The booking process was easy and clear, the housekeeper was waiting to greet us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome, it seemed that nothing would be too much trouble.” C.Daffin

Carbis Bay is a great location in close proximity to the train station which I would highly recommend for getting to and from St Ives town albeit the short uphill walk. It was all very good quality and spotlessly clean, also a very quiet location. I couldn't fault it really. We ate out a couple of times at The Bean Inn which was very nice, we had lunch at Spinacios on the St Ives harbour front which was very good. Coastal path walks were lovely, we enjoyed from Mousehole to Lamorna Cove, and back along an inland path. Recommend the Penlee Gallery in Penzance - excellent collection of Newlyn School painters. Also Leach Pottery & Hepworth museum." F. Roger

  • ""Just wanted to let you know we had a fantastic Christmas stay at Men An Tol."

utterly perfect., we love the apartment, it is so beautifully decorated, kitchen fully equipped with lovely brand new appliances and crockery, love the welcome pack!!! Everything makes us smile about Men An Tol. Everything about the place means comfy, luxury and makes you feel special. Great to have some many relaxing seats to choose from in the evening or relax in the jacuzzi bath with a book! The view is out of this world and it is a real pleasure every morning waking up and seeing what the weather is doing over the bay and if there are any dolphins or seals. We love the convenience of being able to walk to St Ives along the coast path but also explore the south coast, only a short drive away when the north is blown out. Penzance and Treen are favourites of ours. You get the best of all worlds. It certainly makes us feel very free and rejuvenated after a break at Men An Tol. Can't wait for our next visit." D. Everything about your organisation was spot on. We visited the Watermill twice and found the food excellent as was the service. The Brewers Fayre at Hayle was also surprisingly good, cheap and cheerful but with good service. Pels on the harbour in St. Ives was good for daytime snacks and we went to the Gourmet fish and chips in St Ives, the train ride into St Ives was good, so easy and obviously no parking problems." C. • ""We really enjoyed our stay at Men an Tol and it exceeded our expectations."

We were so impressed with the facilities Ordinance Survey maps, books, DVD’s, local information, Sky TV, magazines, games – everything to make the holiday complete. The welcome was excellent, so friendly and informative and the apartment was spotlessly clean. Good bus and train services meant we could leave the car and visit St Ives without the hassle of finding a parking spot. Local restaurants were excellent. Highly recommend La Casita, Becks, on the St Ives Road . If you enjoy live music and a great atmosphere then the Kettle ‘N’ Wink in St Ives is the place to go. The Balnoon Inn near Trink is worth the short drive or, in our case, cycle ride for the Cornish Knocker alone. Carbis Bay beach is very clean and much more peaceful than St Ives or other local beaches." S. Hollett

We found the apartment was lovingly decorated and sparkling clean with sea views just to die for !
