  • "We had a most enjoyable stay at this wonderful cottage."

It was completely suitable for a wheelchair user with low cupboards, space around both sides of the bed, a wet room with a shower seat, but still perfect for able bodied guests too. Our hosts made us feel very welcome, and we were within easy reach of many of Cornwall's attractions, including the Eden Project, a 'must see'. We are already planning a return visit to this lovely 'home from home'.

  • "Property was excellent."

My wife is disabled and the accessible was great. The only issue was regarding the seating. My wife could not use the sofa or chairs as there was no way she could get up from there. Having said that the cottage was much better equipped than other place we have stayed that were supposed to be accessible.

We do supply another armchair that is higher, specifically for people who struggle with the 3 piece suite. Property Owner

  • "Overall the cottage was brilliant but the three piece suite was not comfortable and difficult to up from for a disabled person."

The Sofa is very low but so many guests do love it. We do supply a higher armchair specifically for those who would have difficulty with the 3 piece suite, we have this in the bedroom but it could easily be moved into the main room. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was delightful and well thought out for disabled people except for the seating in the lounge area."

It is extremely difficult to get up from such low and squashy chairs and it was lucky there was another chair in the bedroom. Also a footstool was needed although one was provided on request. Another shortage was a rubbish bin in the bedroom. We had a very good stay in wheal rose and would recommend it to everyone.

We realise that the needs of all our guests are diverse and so we do provide a higher easy chair in addition to the low suite that so many guests find very comfortable. Property Owner

  • "Mr and Mrs Farmer are lovely and very helpful."

The location is beautiful and so peaceful. It isn't easy to find holiday accommodation for people with physical disabilities. The cottage was lovely and ideal, with lots of room for a person with mobility issues to move around in. The wet room is also very helpful for disabled persons or persons with mobility issues. There is lots of info about Cornwall, maps and places to see etc. available. DVD's and SKY tv provided as well as WiFi. I don't have anything negative to say about the cottage and my stay. My mom, the person with mobility issues, only had one little grumble and that was that she found the couch a little too low and struggled to get up from it. Apart from that, she loved her stay too. We will definitely book this cottage again if we are travelling to Cornwall and would recommend it to anyone with a physical disability who is planning a trip to Cornwall.

One thing I would like to say is the shower chair wasn't totally ideal for a wheelchair bound person, he found it difficult to transfer from his wheelchair onto the showerchair because it wasn't stable until you had your whole weight on to it, the same when he transfered back from shower chair to wheelchair, we did manage with me being present in the room, other than that we found the accommodation perfect

  • "This is the first time booking through Sykes and I found it to be a quick and easy process."

The cottage was as described and the location was perfect for travelling to places like the Eden Project, St Ives, Truro, because you are not far from the A30. Upon arrival and contacting the owner we were met by him and shown around the cottage and then he left us to enjoy our holiday, but was on hand if we needed anything or any question answered. The cottage is in a lovely rural setting, it was very clean and everything was there that we needed, including milk in the fridge, a windbreaker and chairs to take to the beach (in case you didn’t take any) There was a bookshelf full of dvds, games and books to entertain you when you arrived back after a long day sightseeing, this was a lovely touch. When we were there we used the JustPark app which was very useful as you haven’t always got change for the parking, also it gave you directions to find your car and you could add time without going back to your car, which is always handy if you are still on the beach. We loved this area and the cottage was just perfect for us as a family of 3, also it is designed to be very wheelchair friendly and is ideal if you have got a family member that is either disabled or is in a wheelchair. We are definitely going to book for next year.
