  • "One of the best quality cottages we have ever stayed in."

Fabulous black out blind in bedroom sky-light plus very comfy bed provided us with excellent nights sleep all week. Kathryn was on hand if we needed her, which was reassuring for any queries/problems. For us, the only thing that needs adding is an outdoors rotary washing line, there is a small airer but it's inadequate for a machine load. A really lovely, clean, comfy and modern holiday accom.

  • "Lovely welcome pack when we arrived in torrential rain!"

The property was warm and cosy. Spotlessly clean. The owners were very nice and friendly. Would recommend a stay, ideal for walkers or runners, right on the coast path.

  • "The property was absolutely fantastic and the hosts were really friendly and professional."

The sea could be seen from the property and was really nice to watch from outside when sunny, and from inside when stormy. The property was modern, clean and had everything you could have possibly needed for a fantastic holiday. I do have a few suggestions, which are only aimed at making everything even better. The doors to the bathrooms are really modern and space saving. They are sliding doors, but the problem is that they do tend to slide back open a little as they are trying to settle with gravity. A simple hook or lock on the inside to stop them sliding open is all that is needed to keep them closed. The description mentions that the property is on a dairy farm, but there was a constant hum that could be heard from machinery early in the morning. It would be worth adding that into the description so that users are aware. Also the property is an Annex of the main house with a locked door that leads through. There is no problem with this, but again it would be worth adding into the property description to stress that it is not a standalone property, but is effectively a semi-detached. Finally, because it is on a diary farm, on three occasions we came back in the evening to find a milk collection lorry blocking the road, which meant we had to leave our car further up the road and walk to the property, and then go back to collect it 30 minutes or so later. I appreciate once they had started collecting they couldn't stop just to move the lorry for us, but disruption or inconvenience such as this is worthwhile highlighting prior to booking. I don't want this feedback to appear negative or take away the fact that this is a fantastic property and we would stay there again, and I wish to stress that this is a very positive review and is one of the best properties I have ever stayed in, but I just wish to make an honest review for the benefit of some people who might not like these small inconveniences.

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
