• "Unfortunately I can not recommend this particular property as the cleanliness was not good."

  Carpets need replacing as there are stains on them. Kitchen items were dirty including chopping boards cutlery, crockery and baking trays. The sheets on one bed were dirty and the duvet cover was ripped in two different places. There were cigarette butts in a jar left in the garden and halfway through the week a large bush was removed from the garden leaving no privacy as it backed out on to the parking area and a public pathway which lead to a walk. Apart from that the house was spacious. Thankfully the holiday park and the cafe were lovely.

• "Very clean apart from the carpet in the living room it smelt very doggy when we entered the property and there were three nasty stains as big as tea plates as if something had weed on it."

  We were under the impression that the property was pet free. Also the seats were not very comfortable. All that said it was very clean bed's really comfortable and spotless. Very quiet lovely and peaceful

• "The property was very good, clean, comfortable and well equipped."

  However the on site facilities were not as advertised within the visitor pack, food was not available all week, only on certain days and this also applied to takeaway. The pack stated it was available all week. We needed a code to access the other facilities, this had not been given to us so did cause a problem with access to the soft play area.

• "We arrived after a 6 hour drive parked the car and then looked for the keysafe, which we couldn't find."

  Rang Sykes as we were very tired and needed the loo. Sykes duly contacted you and said you would be in touch shortly. You weren't! We were pretty upset by this time as no-one from your company had bothered to ring us so rang Sykes again who contacted you a second time to get this situation sorted out. A neighbour who had also just arrived, heard what I was saying to Sykes and after a while we realised that the car parking was at the back of our our property - Flotsam - no. 87 and not at the front. All the other houses in our terrace had key safes near the back entrances except for ours and no. 86. This meant that we had to walk down the hill to the end of the row, go accross the side of the last house and then walk back up the path to get to the front of the house where there was not one but TWO keysafes. Finally, after a lot of unwanted hassle, we could get in. We were considerably upset by this experience as it would have been so easy to get in through the back entrance had there been a key safe there to enable this. We are both disabled and in our 80's. Luckily it wasn't raining or one of us would have been soaked by the time we got around to the front door. Not having one of those key safes near the back door is definately not user friendly and there is no mention of having to do the hike around the houses to get to the front. After a long and tiring jpurney this is not acceptable.. There is also no dishwasher in the property even though dishwasher tablets are being left for its use and there is no dryer either. What a fiasco that we could definately have done without!!

• "A great accommodation and base to explore this part of Cornwall."

  One thing we especially noted was the fantastically equipped kitchen. So many accommodations have bare essentials making it tricky when cooking for the number of people that an accommodation will sleep. Would recommend to family and friends who visit us here in Cornwall.

• "The cottage is in a lovely quiet location close to Falmouth and close to a large Asda with cheap petrol only a 5-10 minute drive away."

  The grounds are very pretty and the Clubhouse was an added bonus and helpful when we found it difficult to get a reservation at a restaurant one evening because of Covid restrictions. The house had everything we needed and was well stocked with kitchen items. There was a BBQ outside if we wanted to use it. The bed was comfortable and although some people have commented on the blinds it wasn't too much of a problem for us. It is a nice walk to the beach along country tracks (although some were a little muddy) but the directions in the folder are not quite accurate. I wouldn't have wanted to be carrying beach equipment as well though. The only negative was that the phone reception and internet are not brilliant. We had no phone reception in the house and had to stand outside to make calls and the internet is slow. However, we had a lovely stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break.

  The cottage was equiped with everything we needed and the beds were extremely comfortable. The cottage was very clean and all instructions were clearly explained.

  The kitchen was well equipped. We did find the beds a bit small as we have a bigger bed at home. They do need black out blinds as the stripe blends they have let a lot it light in early hours.

• "It's a really nice cottage."

  But saying that it's a 15 minute walk to the beach is a bit misleading when it's a walk down very narrow country lanes which are not safe to walk with children. Not a huge problem, but not helpful. We also had the distinct impression from the website that their was a dishwasher and a BBQ, which there weren't. Finally, why no curtains? If you're a light sleeper, you need bring out blackouts, because the minimal 'blinds' offer no protection from the light at all. We had a great time and it was easy to get around and to the beach. But those small things could have made it really excellent.

  Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The walk to the beach usually involves cutting across the fields (wellies required) which is much safer for children. The BBQ should be at the property, located in the front porch. There is not a dishwasher at Flotsam and this does not appear in the description: we do list a 'washing machine' however (maybe this caused the confusion?). We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Flotsam otherwise. Property Owner

• "Flotsam was wonderfully clean, very well equipped & nicely decorated, clearly a lot of thought had gone into the cottage."

  I could have easily lived there! The grounds were also beautifully maintained and right on Falmouth’s doorstep. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to other guests. A personal preference would be to have black out curtains at the bedroom windows, as waking at daybreak in July wasn’t the best for us.
