Location: Mevagissey

St. Austell 5.5 miles; Truro 16 miles.

Renowned as one of Cornwall's finest fishing villages, Mevagissey is home to a beautiful harbour complete with coloured boats and flanked by rugged cliffs. There are great beaches and secluded coves to be explored and plentiful opportunities for bracing walks along the nearby headlands. The village itself is crammed with enchanting little shops, welcoming pubs and mouth watering eateries, and during the summer months (Easter to September) a ferry runs between Mevagissey and Fowey. For days out why not visit the tall ships at Charlestown (7 miles), or the nearby Eden Project (11 miles) with its landmark Bio domes and fun learning environments? There are many other Cornish villages and towns waiting to be explored within easy driving distance such as Truro, the outstanding Roseland Peninsula and the constantly popular Penzance. A wonderful destination at any time of the year.

Previous visitors' comments about An Kres:

Mevagissey is a lovely place to stay and an ideal base for coastal walks and visiting other quaint resorts and fishing harbours. The locals were very friendly and welcoming. The property is situated in a quiet location with parking which is a bonus.
Mrs Storey, Stoke-on-Trent, October 2012

The cottage was really nice, very quiet and peaceful. Very nice welcome from the owner, showed us around and then left us to enjoy our holiday! Would certainly book it again if we go down there to stay. Good centre to explore the area.
Mr Makinson, Blackburn, September 2012

We thought the location of An Kres was perfect and the owners were very friendly and most helpful, while not being at all intrusive. One of the most well maintained and equipped cottages that we have ever been to and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
Mrs Roos-Dopheide, Ferndown, September 2012

The accommodation had everything you could ask for and as we had such terrible weather, on very bad days it was very comfortable just to spend the time in the cottage. The owners were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Mrs Dickinson, Beverley, June 2012
