  • "Kirra is a nice little property and because we know Polzeath very well it's easy to overlook some of the issues."

Of particular note is the obvious damp problem that affects the under stairs cupboard. The damp smell permeates the ground floor if the door is opened and also creates mold in the ground floor shower room. Also, the kitchen mixer tap should be properly fixed - the makeshift repair is shaky and will fail!! Cleanliness was generally ok but someone had left a rusty old grill pan on the patio and there was a disintegrating coal scuttle under the sink in the utility room that scattered rust flakes if accidentally touched. Such a shame!

  • "A lovely homey base for our long weekend stay."

It was just down the road from family we were visiting so perfect location, great facilities and super dog friendly. The enclosed garden was our saviour at night time when it got dark. The kitchen taps seemed to struggle a bit with a good pressure, but it didn’t affect our stay at all. The log burner was a wonderful addition too, especially in cold January. Looking forward to coming back in years to come. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind comments, I will get the water pressure checked in the kitchen, thank you for letting us know. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay at Kirra."

The location was ideal, and it was perfectly spacious for six people and a dog. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. Would definitely book again. The only thing I would add is that the taps in the kitchen need looking at as cold water flow very weak.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. We will keep an eye on the kitchen taps so thank you for letting us know! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay although left a day early due to oncoming storm Betty."

The only comments I have are 1. Curtain hooks missing in sitting room/kitchen. It looks tatty 2. It would help to provide towels of different colours for each person. With two teenagers, towels are left on floors so it is anyone’s guess who’s is who’s. The house generally was well equipped and very clean on arrival. Patricia

Thank you for kind words regarding your stay at Kirra. The issue with the curtain hooks has been raised to our maintenance department. We hope to welcome you back in the very near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

We do love staying here and have done so many times but one of single beds in bigger downstairs room has been broken for some time now and gives a very uncomfortable nights sleep

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future! We will raise the issue with the bed to our maintenance team to inspect. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "The property was perfect for our needs and the location is great."

However we suffered by being the first visitors since the house was closed up for the winter. There were several teething problems (broken keys, door locks not working, plumbing leak under the sink, lack of hot water in the downstairs shower and an excess of black dog hair everywhere) which we had to endure and find solutions for.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues. Your comments have been passed on to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays and to the owner. We hope you still managed to enjoy your visit despite these issues and would love to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "We are on day 1 of our 2 week stay and so far very disappointed with the property facilities."

The fridge shelves are barely being held up with raw plugs! Not ok!! The dishwasher shelves are so rusty it will be a health hazard to use which means for my holiday I have more work to do! There is no outside washing line so I have had to rig one up and the doors and windows are intolerably noisey at night. For just shy of £5000 to rent it is a disgrace! I tried to call but of course being a Sunday no one is available. I do hope you read this and affect change for us. We love Cornwall and Polzeath is where we come ever year and this property has let Sykes down!

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry that the facilities were not up to standard that you had expected when renting the property; We have been working with the owner to improve areas of the property including installing a washing line. We hope it won't be too long before we get to welcome you back to Cornwall. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We have stayed in Kirra many times over the years."

It is a lovely spacious cottage and has most things you would need. All beds and towels provided and beautifully laundered and nice new gesture having a little bag of goodies on arrival. Lovely to see a new television this year and new outdoor table and chairs. However some items especially in the kitchen need replacing now. The dishwasher was very rusty this year and the fridge has been just holding it together. Taps in the kitchen sink are kind of wobbly and under the sink leaks a little. Generally house needs a bit of a facelift now, just a repaint and a proper clean behind and under the furniture. I had to restrain myself from clearing under the furniture on arrival and hoovering and properly cleaning things. I know it is a holiday home but we have been here so many times over the years and it obviously needs some TLC now. We would love to come back and hope some of these items may be addressed.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the new additions and improvements. Regarding the maintenance issues you have reported, we have raised these with our maintenance team and they will rectify when possible. We hope despite these, you still enjoyed your stay and we would love to welcome you back in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

The property was so unloved, tired and past its sell buy date. Location was excellent.

I have only given smiles and 4 stars because we were next to the building site so difficult to be perfect in that scenario.

Thank you for your feedback! Our apologies that you found the Wi-Fi code hard to find (we send this to you through an email before your stay). • "My family and I really enjoyed our holiday and Kirra’s location."

I / we feel that the property is looking a little bit tired and could do with a bit of a Spruce up. I.e linings on the curtains in the downstairs bedrooms. Mattress in the larger downstairs bedroom quite uncomfortable ( the one nearest the window ). The property was quite clean upon arrival however when we cleaned and hoovered the lounge during our stay we found debris under the settees which must have been left by previous occupants.

Thank you for your feedback, we apologise that the cleaning was not up to standard but we have reported this to our housekeeping team to ensure to be checked in future. We are glad you enjoyed your stay regardless and would love to have you back in the future! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

With a sunny terrace and lawned garden, along with private use of the tennis court on request, Kirra can accommodate up to six guests, offering a lovely retreat for families and their pets.

Take a seat with a refreshing drink on the sheltered terrace, a hotspot on a sunny day, whilst the open-plan sitting room/kitchen is a light, sociable space to enjoy; sink into the deep sofas, and on cool Autumnal nights, light the woodburning stove, making Kirra a suitable base for all seasons.

Neat and well-equipped, you won't mind rustling up a quick holiday supper, or a round of scones for a cream tea, in the immaculate kitchen.

The bedrooms offer a range of sleeping accommodation with a king-size bed and two twin rooms on offer.

The epitome of the Cornish seaside resort, Polzeath is located on the North Cornwall coast and has a fun, buzzy atmosphere with varied beach shops, art galleries and great places to eat.

Set up camp in one of the sheltered coves on the edge of the beach or at low tide, head to Pentireglaze (Baby Bay to locals) for a quieter family picnic.

Follow the coast path along the cliff to Pentire Point and The Rumps for awe-inspiring and dramatic scenes of the ocean and the mouth of the estuary with the lifeboat station in the distance at Trevose Head.

Families with youngsters can happily relax at Daymer Bay with a picnic and buckets and spades, knowing that beach games, paddling and rock pools will keep little darlings amused for the whole day.

Book your next break with a stay at Kirra.
