The Old Chapel, a stylish yet characterful Grade II listed, converted chapel rests in the picturesque village of St Columb Minor, Cornwall, and new to Sykes for 2024.

This large and inviting abode has been lovingly restored to create a contemporary, well-equipped base for up to nine guests, whilst resting a short distance from the beach, amenities, and attractions of Newquay.

Park up off-road and climb the external steps, taking in the grandeur of your new home.

The ground floor is home to a handy cloakroom, a convenient utility, four well-appointed bedrooms, including two doubles, a twin, and a single with trundle and a sleek shower room.

Upstairs you will be greeted by an impressive living/dining room, with original arched windows offering dual-aspect views, where you can lounge upon the plush sofas, light the woodburning stove, and gather as a family, whilst the kitchen is well-equipped for a self-catered stay.

Completing the home is a single bedroom, and an indulgent bathroom, featuring a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower, catering to all preferences and offering a stylish place to unwind or refresh.

If you can tear yourself away, the nearby village of St Columb Minor offers a village store, Post Office, café, play park and a pub, The Farmers Arms, to enjoy a meal and an ice-cold ale.

Gwenna's tea room near by.

A short drive away is the pre-historic Porth beach where you can relax in the sun, delight in the local amenities, or soak up the views as you explore the rocks and caves.

Head further afield to Newquay, a coastal resort with miles of golden sands, colourful beach huts, a selection of eateries, bars and activities to keep all entertained, including Newquay Zoo, Fistral Beach, and Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay.

You can also explore the cultural hub of Truro, packed with a plethora of independent shops, cafés, galleries, restaurants, and theatres, or visit the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, located in the historic harbour.

About the location

ST COLUMB MINOR

Porth 1 mile; Newquay 1.6 miles; Truro 14 miles.

St Columb Minor is a quiet village off the main road into Newquay, with a supermarket and an excellent local pub, the Farmers Arms. Here, apart from being well-known for their food and local ales, a varied range of weekly events prove most popular. Opposite the pub, is the magnificent village church, dating from around 1430, and the high tower has been a landmark for generations of fishermen. There are many lovely beaches on offer in Newquay that you will be spoilt for choice but, for families, Porth beach takes some beating. A lovely sandy beach with a sheltered aspect being protected by headlands on both sides, it has been a favourite with those in the know for many years. Just over a mile away is the town of Newquay which is known as the home of the UK’s surf scene, boasting three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, making it a watersports paradise!
