The property

Set above Porthminster Beach, at Carrack Widden, on the Terrace in St Ives, this one bedroom, second floor apartment enjoys stunning sea views from its living area and is but a short stroll from the harbour, town centre, beaches, and St Ives scenic railway, qith wonderful views of the beach, the sea and twenty five miles of coastline greet you as you enter the apartment.

It’s not by accident that the owners called it “Sunrise”, ‘“We usually wake early,” say the owners, Sandra and Colin , and are always totally enraptured as we open the curtains to see the sun inching its way up into the dark velvet sky. A blaze of colour envelops the whole coast and the only thing that tells you it is the sunrise of the east rather than the sunset of the western beach is the fact there are always a couple of boats bobbing around and occasional dolphins frolicking in the waves.

We’ve owned Sunrise for twenty years,” Sandra goes on,” and stay frequently, we never fail to be enraptured by the view of Porthminster Beach and Godrevy Lighthouse.Sometimes you can see all the coast, as far north as Newquay".

In the apartment itself, two settees are provided for ample relaxation and you can spend some time watching the ever changing colours of the ocean or sit back and enjoy the entertainment package provided, with a 42” Smart television, newly fitted with SkyQ When the sun fills the apartment with light, Venetian blinds are provided so you can angle its rays however you wish.

The kitchen/diner is separated from the open plan living space, whilst a round teak table with four matching dining chairs complement the feeling of luxury, the contemporary kitchen is well-appointed with newly fitted sea-green units, spacious worktops, two fridges - one with a freezer compartment, built in microwave and oven, providing all you need for your holiday.

In the bedroom hand-made velvet curtains are fitted with blackout lining ensuring a peaceful and tranquil night’s sleep.

A triple wardrobe and dressing table with drawers offer plenty of storage space for your holiday.

A double shower room is conveniently located adjacent to it. Additional coin operated commercial washing facilities are available in the laundry building at the back of the building.

Treat yourself to a delicious meal on Porthminster Beach, just a short walk from the apartment where there is a choice of café or fine dining restaurant, St Ives is surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, a pretty working harbour and ancient cobbled streets full of boutiques, cafes, unique shops and galleries. A visit to the largest, the Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden highlights the towns link with artists worldwide, with many exhibitions to enjoy.

The South West Coast Path is a walker’s paradise, circling Cornwall’s coastline and you can join it just a few steps from the apartment.

Turn left and you head towards Zennor in one direction; turn right and the Hayle Estuary and Carbis Bay Beach await you in the other.

The scenic railway follows a stunning coastline journey with breath-taking views all the way. Visit Carbis Bay, or get off in Lelant and walk the three mile sandy beach back to Carbis Bay where you either catch the train down to St Ives or continue your walk.

Watching the sun set over St Ives is hard to match but St Michaels Mount is also truly majestic and well worth a visit.

Just down the coast from there, the open-air Minack Theatre, dramatically cut out of the edge of a Cornish cliff side has performances all season, hosting plays and musicals from companies all over the world and an hour away you can venture into the tropics of the rainforest at the Eden Project, near St Austell, or trace the filming locations for the BBC TV series Poldark or Doc Martin both filmed in Cornwall. If you love swimming in crystal clear aquamarine waters or relaxing on the finest sand whilst taking in stunning scenery, then Sunrise is an idyllic choice for a holiday and well located for exploring St Ives and Cornwall.

About the location

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
