  • "Nice little bungalow could do with more bath and hand towels, cutlery, cups and cookware and a towel rail in the bathroom."

Nice furnishings but shame the reclining sofa’s weren’t operational. We enjoyed our stay.

  • "We enjoyed our holiday and like previous guests have similar feedback in terms of there needing to be more crockery in the kitchen and a towel rail, or at the very least, functioning hooks on the back of the main bathroom door for wet towels."

Upgrading to larger bath sheets would be ideal! Electric shower is showing it's age and not powerful but it's adequate. The utility room unfortunately had a damp smell during our week despite using the oil filled heater in there to try & warm it up, it's not great to store your wet weather gear and wellies as they don't dry out! The back garden could do with an outside light, especially for those with dogs wanting to pick up mess as it happens, a little tricky in the dark. It's a shame that has not been installed even though it was suggested a few months ago by other guests. Great that the rear garden was fully enclosed for dogs. Beds were comfy, the road was very quiet so we slept well. The village has a good bakery and a nice fish & chip shop. Local beaches were great for dogs, Holywell, Crantock & Perranporth etc. Excellent dog friendly pubs within short driving distances. Great location and with a little more love and maintenance this could be a fabulous bungalow for couples and small families that would command return visits.

  • "Arrived to scones and milk which was appreciated."

Positives - comfy bed, ok sofa , good sized tv and bungalow ok.. arrived to dirty highchair and filthy oven gloves and tea towels didnt look clean. Towels also very worn and need replacing. No laundry basket. Some areas of improvement needed such as shower which is very old and very poor water pressure. Unfortunately, I got very unwell on holiday and realised in my final 48 hrs that there's black mould to the bathroom and bedroom and carpet alongside wood lice which I now note was a previous complaint from other tenants. This caused an asthma and cough which im still recovering from..Unfortunately Sykes won't do anything which is very upsetting. Would I return ? No . The mould is a serious health concern so this needs urgently addressing and not just painted over.

We are welcoming of feedback both positive or otherwise, the views of our guests are important to us. However, we do expect the feedback to be constructive and proportionate. On advising us of your dissatisfaction with the oven gloves we immediately responded and provided you with new ones. The highchair was a little dusty, this was an oversight, we offered to clean the highchair, you didn't want us to do this as you would not be using it. You had no children with you. Our towels are provided by a linen company and are to hotel standards. The bath and handtowels provided have recently been purchased by our linen company they were certainly not worn or in need of replacing. We noted that you had used the spare dog towels we provide for our furry guests and are clearly marked as dog towels for ease of finding. These are slightly worn, our furry friends don't mind wiping muddy paws on them. There were a few small patches of mildew on the bedroom skirting but not on the carpet and there were a few spots on the bathroom ceiling. It had been extremely wet the week of your visit, it has been wet here in Cornwall for many months. We do expect our guests to open windows and allow damp air to escape as you would in your own homes. As owners we clean the property ourselves, there was no sign of mildew when we left the property on the day of your arrival. Infact you did not report this until the day before you were about to leave. The removal of the mildew took seconds to clean as it was on the surface. This has not been an issue for us in the past and has not been "painted over" as you have suggested and is not a health concern. Had you have raised this with us earlier in your stay we would have responded immediately, you did not give us opportunity to do this and did not want us to visit the property until after you had left. We are very proud of the 98% satisfaction score for cleanliness of our home, the guest who stayed the week previous to your stay scored us 100%. Property Owner

Comfortable and clean. A great base for seeing Cornwall. Lovely cream tea on arrival. There is a lovely tea room in the village, the cakes are gorgeous. The church is wonderful. The Smugglers Inn is lovely, dog friendly too. The food is amazing. Crantock beach is our favourite beach nearby. Again dog friendly and a surfers

  • "The bungalow was well presented, clean and homely."

It was good to have contact with the owner before our holiday and it was reassuring that he told us that we could contact him if we had any difficulties, which we didn’t. The gated and enclosed community field behind the Church was great for dog walks. The cream tea and milk on arrival was a really nice touch and much appreciated Thank you.

  • "Very clean and spacious."

Comfy beds and settees with excellent entertainment options, walking distance to shop and exceptionally good chip shop ( when open). Shower cubicle is good size good level of kitchen utensils but No bread knife annd extractor lights would not work. Easy to get dogs to beach (national trust car park) and park just off memorial square. Everyone we met at the park and beach seemed to be very friendly and we have fallen in love with Cubert.

Dear Guest, thank you for your kind feedback. We hope you had an enjoyable time during your stay. We sincerely apologies for not having a bread knife and the cooker hood lights not working. We will look into this urgently and will provide a bread knife as soon as possible. This is really useful feedback thank you. We hope we will see you again soon. best wishes, the Dunes View family Property Owner

  • "The property was superb, location peaceful, secure for the dog and facilities were great."

Personal contact with the owner was a nice touch also. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing for a break in the Newquay/perranporth area, our next break in Newquay we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here. Only negative and it is minor, due to time of year of our visit, would benefit from outdoor lighting in the garden.

Dear Guest, thank you for your kind feedback. We hope you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. You will be pleased to know an outside light is on our list to do as soon as possible. We agree this would be beneficial as we go into the darker nights. best wishes, the Dunes View family Property Owner

It was a great base for our stay and Holywell Bay is a lovely beach, only a short drive away. The online description gives the impression that the second bedroom is bigger than it is, but overall we would definitely recommend Dunesview.

If it had some better furniture sitting on a wooden bench was not very comfortable also had to share with a couple of rats a tea pot would of been nice

Dear Guest Thank you for the feedback and bringing those pesky rats trying to share the bench with you to our attention, we will look to resolve this for our future guests. A tea pot is a great suggestion and certainly something we can look at providing. It will be a good addition to the cream tea we provided for your arrival. • "We had an extremely enjoyable stay; the bungalow was extremely comfortable, and everything that we could have needed had been thoughtfully provided."

The cream tea on arrival was an excellent touch. A welcome addition would be some blinds in the bedrooms, both for privacy and for closing during the day - especially to keep the hot sun out. The garden was private and the bench seating more than adequate, but a couple of outside cushions would have made it perfect. We had a wonderful hedgehog visitor, but it stopped coming when it realised the dogs were in situ. The location of the village was perfect for our 3 most favourite beaches, and we frequented both the shop (with plentiful provisions) and chippy (excellent fish & chips). We were also lucky in stumbling across the community field for quick walks with the dogs, as well as finding the public footpath from it to a local pub! The Smugglers Den Inn was extremely welcoming, tempting us with their tasty specials menu. Well done to the owners of Dunes View; we hope to return soon.

Dear Guest Wow! Thank you so much for your positive feedback and helpful suggestions. They are greatly appreciated, we agree they will make wonderful additions to the property. How lovely to have had a hedgehog visit you too. We are delighted you enjoyed our home and had a great time while you were here. You certainly packed a lot in! The communication regarding the key safe, and the combination was very simple. In the kitchen we were greeted with three chocolate Easter eggs thank you. Also some dog treats which went down very well with our precious little furry friend. Overall, everything was spot-on, very comfortable lounge Clean and tidy and Wi-Fi was a bonus so we could keep in touch with family during our stay. The fenced in garden area was great for our four-legged friend . It was in a nice quiet area and plenty of parking on the drive. The only downside was if you are a beach lover it’s one hell of a walk about 40 minutes, that’s going mostly downhill so coming back, took us about 15 minutes longer. We would definitely recommend it .
