The small Somerset town of Midsomer Norton lies about 10 miles from the centre of Bath, and has a number of shops, cafes and pubs at its centre. The high street is known for having the River Somer flowing along the middle of the road, and is the perfect place to sit and feed the ducks after shopping or sightseeing. Located on the eastern edge of the Mendip Hills, the area around the town provides great walks, as well as cycle trails along the old Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. Nearby there are many attractions, including the East Somerset Steam Railway, Glastonbury Tor, Nunney and Farliegh Hungerford Castles, Wells Cathedral and the caves at Cheddar and Wookey Hole. Just a short drive away is the World Heritage city of Bath, offering something for everyone, including stunning Georgian architecture, music festivals, Roman baths, unique shops and restaurants, plus the Thermae Bath Spa, Britain's only natural spa where you can indulge yourself under a starlit sky.
