  • "Absolutely superb, stunningly, beautiful cottage with first class interiors."

The best ever, welcome pack. The views are amazing. We met John when we arrived, as we found, finding the cottage, a little difficult, but he directed us and we never had a problem after that, such a lovely man and so very helpful. We got to visit Oxford, Gloucester, Cirencester, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Stow on the Wold ,Broadway and Boughton on the water, every one was beautiful but we loved Oxford, the history of that area is pretty outstanding.

Thank you for your very kind words. Delighted you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Special Time for Christmas at The Nook We felt right at home and loved The Nook from the minute we stepped through the door."

We loved the view from lounge/dining room, it was stunning and equally so from the garden. The cottage was clean, well equipped and warm and cosy. A great retreat after exploring the many surrounding walks/woodland areas straight on foot from the front door. The area has lots lovely places to visit and the local pub, The Butchers Arms really was such a great pub to visit. Thanks to John for his helpful, friendly welcome and and the treats left for our stay, they were just lovely. All in all The Nook made our 1st Christmas away very special and we will treasure the memories made in this beautiful cottage for some time to come.

The property itself it’s clean, comfortable and John made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay again. Thanks to John and family for a really relaxed, peaceful stay.

  • "The cottage was perfect, absolutely fabulous position looking out to rolling hills, trees and wildlife."

Very well equipped with all that you would ever need. Off street parking a bonus. John, the owner could not have been more helpful. Lovely welcoming basket, wine milk biscuits etc. Perfect for a quiet relaxing stay, with plenty of local walks, to discover. This cottage is not suited for the elderly or those with mobility issues. The stairs are steep, with shallow treads and polished wood, could do with a carpet runner to make the stairs less of a hazard, there is a risk of slipping. The steps up from the off street parking bay could also do with some support to avoid falling. Be warned, the local roads to the cottage, are narrow and steep in places, in poor weather conditions these could be difficult to negotiate.

We have to say John and Janice were amazing hosts. The place is in an idyllic setting, and the facilities inside are all that is needed. The kitchen offers the best facilities we have ever had in a Sykes' cottage. Every room was spotless, and all beds and bedding brand new. The snug is a great room, quiet and cosy, with a really nice fireplace. This goes for the main living room too. The place is easy to heat and stays warm, so you don't need to worry about getting cold. Parking is easy too. I work from home and therefore internet is a must; the Nook offers 35Mbs+, which is more than most. Absolutely brilliant 1 months stay!
