  • "A lovely converted stable block which has been tastefully furnished on this working dairy farm."

Ideally situated on the outskirts of Oxford allowing easy access to many nearby attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

  • "The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable."

The cows were lovely and provided continuous on site entertainment for our 3 year old -she also enjoyed the Wendy house and football goal. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and we would happily stay here again.

  • "Absolutely first class in every respect!"

Claire, Brian and Steve made us most welcome, were always available for helpful local advice and very easy to talk to. On arrival, milk in the fridge and a box of chocolates on the table were a pleasant surprise. For us, being based on a working farm was a bonus. It is a quiet rural location with excellent riverside and country walks. We hope to return.

  • "We absolutely loved this place, it is one of the best we've stayed at since being in the UK."

Claire is very responsive when messaged and her father is a fantastic man to talk to. I would most definitely want to return, I feel 2 weeks was not enough to explore the area and totally enjoy the surroundings. I would reccomend this place to anyone and everyone.

  • "The Old Stable is well presented and a wonderfully equipped holiday home."

Everything has been provided to an extremely high standard. Despite dire weather predictions our stay was not interupted by the sound of raindrops. All good so far. This is very much a working farm and as such the sound of tractors working from 7am should not be unexpected. Another aspect worthy of note during spells of warm weather was the abundance of flies......again not unusual on a farm but preparing food is not a task for sharing with our six-legged friends. A country property was chosen for walks and enjoying the outdoors. It is not feasible to walk from the door, therefore the car is required every day . . . . Herein lies my final gripe..The A40 is a busy road and joining it is a nightmare. Forget trying to turn right because a sufficient gap is as likely as a fly swatter having a success rate capable of deterring the other house guests. Engage power setting, turn left and trust other road users are taking notice. Walking the 1.3 miles to the nearest pub was possible but conversation, bar shouting, has to be conduced during breaks in the traffic. Our stay was enjoyable and the area is full of beautiful destinations - honourable mention to the warm sausage rolls from the butcher in Burford. These and his own pork pies are not to be missed. There is little the attentive owners can do about any of this and as such my comments are aimed purely at the expectations of prospective holiday makers. Nature has her own way of retribution - on our return home our south facing windows had their share of uninvited flies!!!!

The A40 is a very busy road, but there is a very pleasant alternative back road which will take you straight to Witney or Oxford park and ride, when ever possible we do make guests aware of this. We are a working farm, and I feel honoured to wake up every morning surrounded by beautiful views and animals, of course there will be flies in the summer, so I have provided fly spray in the barns to help avoid issues. We do have a wonderful footpath that takes you through fields and woods to Freeland about 2 miles where you can find a great pub. We are always available to answer any questions. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay here."

The house was exceptionally clean and well presented. A beautiful mix of modern and old farmhouse. Great location with lots to do in the local area, very close to the park and ride for Oxford. We visited Legoland which was about an hour away. The kids loved the garden area, the basketball hoop was a particular favourite. A relaxing break was exactly what we all needed, loved the fact the only noise was cows mooing!

  • "We had an enjoyable stay at The Stable cottage."

The cottage was well maintained and comfortable. With regard to the patio shared with The Barn cottage, we felt a little uncomfortable in using this as it was so close to The Barn occupants and we did not wish to be intrusive.

Thank you for your stay in The Old Stable, there is a private patio area for The Stable behind the football pitch for you to enjoy with table, chairs and barbecue I will make this clearer in the welcome manual. Property Owner

  • "Superb cottage with all mod cons on working beef farm."

Owner Claire very helpful, nothing to much trouble and extremely friendly. Spacious living room and well equipped kitchen and downstairs toilet on ground floor, second floor with roomy bedroom with super comfy bed and second twin bedroom. Top quality shower room with heated towel radiator and luxury towels. No expense spared accommodation in a lovely location. A guest book would be useful and the shower would benefit from a non slip mat but otherwise faultless.

  • "The stable was spotless and in a lovely location for everything you might want to explore."

The family who own the farm are friendly but not intrusive and the setting very beautiful. The stable itself feels brand new and is very comfortable. A few rugs and a lamp or two downstairs would make it feel even more cosy (this is just a personal preference.) The under floor heating kept us super warm. We would definitely come again!
