6 Customer Reviews

  • "The property was let down by the beds; the mattresses were very thin and only one thin pillow was provided per person."

The quality of the bed linen was also lower than expected. The so called ‘well equipped’ kitchen needs considerably more mugs, 6 mugs is not sufficient. There was one cheap, very poor quality set of kitchen utensils that bent when you tried to use them. Only one bin liner was provided and inside the bin was filthy. These issues are so easily fixed and would result in a more positive review. As things stand we would not return.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at our holiday let. We appreciate your honest feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the shortcomings you experienced with the beds, bedding, kitchen equipment, and cleanliness. We have now increased the number of mugs, but you would have noticed that in all other departments the kithcen is well-equiped. The kithcen utensils are of mix companies and you would have noticed that while some are of cheaper quality there are just as many that are of more suitable quality. We have made house keeping aware of the binliners issue even though there are several bins which had bin liners already in them and we will ensure that there are more in future. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely break here over Christmas (5 adults and Louie the dog)."

The house and garden were great although both properties in building have access to the same garden - luckily other house didn't use it. The kitchen had a lot of pans but need a couple of larger ones and maybe a couple of casserole dishes along with scales and a measuring jug (struggled to use cup measurements). On the day we left, after torrential rain, noticed a leak in small room at the back labelled office - notified Sykes and left note for cleaners but no reply from Sykes. As said before we had a great Christmas at the house and were very comfortable. Will definitely hire again as ideal for us and central for 3 parts of the family to meet up to spend time together.

  • "The Fox and Punchbowl is a clean house with a pleasant garden in a good location with plenty of places to visit."

However, the configuration of the house makes it difficult for anyone such as myself who has mobility issues. The front door is lower than the drive with steps leading down to it with no handrail. The bathroom is on a half landing with no handrails on the steps from the bedrooms which have narrow doors that do not fully open. The double bed is also very low. The kitchen is clean and appliances are new. Crockery and cutlery were sparse but adequate. Equipment for cooking was virtually non existent consisting of pots and pans which we were unable to use as the non scratch surface had been scratched right down to the metal and very little else, no mixing bowls, jugs, casseroles, baking dishes. A few additions to the house would make this a lovely place to stay.

We have increased the number of pots and pans and mixing bowls in the property to ensure that all of our guests have everything they need to cook and prepare meals during their stay. We're also glad you enjoyed the location of our property. We're just a short walk from the beach, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions nearby. • "Lovely holiday home in a great location."

The house is clean and comfy. The tv in the living room has no channels, however we were able to log into our Netflix account. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils and pots etc. the beds were comfy, however the bed in the main bedroom is low, beware incase and mobility issues. The garden is lovely, big and well maintained, just be aware the garden also leads to the garden for next door, so if you have small children or dogs they can wonder over that way, plus the gate isn’t locked and children can open it. Overall a lovely stay

Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our holiday home in Windsor. We appreciate your feedback on the TV, kitchen, and beds. We'll be sure to pass this along to our homekeeping team so they can make any necessary improvements. We also appreciate you bringing to our attention the fact that the gate to the next-door garden is unlocked. We'll be sure to lock the gate so that children and dogs can't wander over there. We're glad you had a lovely stay overall. We hope to see you again soon! Property Owner

  • "Excellent property."

Unfortunately let down by leaking roof in office resulting in bad mould and humid smell. The rest of the property is other wise in great condition. A little disappointed that I had to buy and replace 3 of the four blown lights around the property. In addition the towel rail was switched off, presumably from inside the inaccessible locked cupboard in the bathroom. The Window in the bathroom needs to have a net curtain or fogging added to at least the bottom 2/3rds of the glass for privacy, otherwise the blind needs to be fully shut every time someone wants to use it. This also showed the lack of lighting in the bathroom. Finally a lack of t-towels we had to purchase and a short fall in place mats and coasters. One last thing I also had to buy batteries for the kitchen window remote! That said this is still the best house we have let in the past year

Thanks for your feedback, we do not recommend utilising the garden shed as an office space, so we do expect it to be musty and damp during certain weather conditions. However, we will review the space in the future, the leaking roof has now been repaired. If you had called us regarding any of the other issues you raised, I would have been more than happy to send the housekeeper round to assist you. I have passed on your comments to the housekeeper to make sure they are rectified for future guests. Property Owner
