  • "3 Sutton Barn was clean, warm, comfortable and very well presented."

It was in a lovely location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay ~ so much so, we have booked it again.

  • "This is a well kept property which felt much bigger than the pictures implied."

The kitchen was the most well equipped that we've come across. The location was quiet & useful for our purpose (an event on the Severn Valley Railway) as Hampton Loade Station is nearby. I'm sure the outside seating area is charming in good weather, our visit was too chilly to take advantage! The only thing we'd recommend is a footstool for the lounge area.

  • "This didn’t affect our stay, but we let the owner know that there was no hot water on the day we checked out and the dishwasher didn’t seem to be working properly and cleaning all the dishes."

We loved our stay in this barn though; beautiful place to stay.

  • "Great place to stay, warm welcome by owner as we arrived."

Very comfortable bed and good facilities in the accommodation. Good place from which to visit Bridgenorth, Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Ludlow and the RAF Museum at Cosford. All are worth a visit. Would recommend keeping to the A class roads when touring even though they may not be the shortest on the map as many are little more than country lanes. This is an active farming area and tractors and other farm machinery take up much of the lane width leading to delays.

  • "Beautiful cosy cottage which welcomed us from the minute we opened the front door!"

We subsequently met the owners too- who were lovely- very helpful. Property was neat & clean with all essentials for a really comfortable stay. Ideally located for the purpose of our stay which was to visit The Astbury Golf Course! Would definitely recommend & would come back again.

Curl up on the sofa as you flick through a selection of films on the Smart TV, pondering which Shropshire attraction you’ll visit next.

At the other side of the property lies the master bedroom, home to a sumptuous king-size bed, while the second room offers a quaint single, ideal for a little one.

The village of Highley is just a few miles south, offering two welcoming pubs, The Malt Shovel Inn, and Bache Arms, along with a convenience store, farm shop and butchers where you can pick up some local produce.

Head to the market town of Bridgnorth, holding a long history of being a market town, but offering so much more including the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, linking the town on the Severn with the High Town and Castle, while the Severn Valley Railway offers a 16-mile journey passing through Shropshire and Worcestershire.

You can even join your rail adventure through the Severn Valley at Hampton Loade Station, not far from 3 Sutton Barn, a peaceful hamlet along the River Severn.

About the location

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
