  • "Newly rennovated compact cottage perfect for a short stay for 2."

Decor and appliances are of high standard, however there is a strong smell of damp (I assume) downstairs - so much so we had to leave the door open. Had all amenities we needed but we lacked instruction booklet/welcome pack that is usual with cottages - no instructions for bins/recycling, appliance usage and we had no hot water throughout our stay. Car parking instructions seriously lacking - as per other reviews, this should be a simple fix.

  • "The parking space "opposite" was not very accurate and there were no directions in the property or on the website to indicate where the allocated space was: Across the road 100 yards to the left, down a steep slope and against the old factory wall."

Once we located the slot we used it easily!!! It would be lovely to have some indication in the property of its age and history which is available via the various Gorge Museums. The stairs are indeed very steep and not suitable for those with any mobility issues. This ought to be on the website too. Otherwise a lovely comfortable cottage. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was beautifully presented, bright and clean."

It is compact but was ideal for the two of us. We just about coped with the stairs, which are steep (both in our early 70s but relatively fit ). Car parking was the major concern as the road outside is quite busy at peak times. Decided to park further downhill an area about 120metres away. Enjoyed our stay very much.

  • "Recently refurbished to a high standard."

This was an ideal property for two people but could be a little small for 4. Ideally situated for access to Ironbridge although it is up a hill which would be an issue for anyone not 100% good on their feet. Overall we had a lovely time and would certainly recommend. Paul

  • "Whilst the property was lovely and in good condition, the Wi-Fi was very poor and only really useful when in the living room."

When in any other room my devices would drop off every so often and I would have to reboot the Sky box; I think a booster box would sort this out. The lack of an extractor fan in what is a relatively small kitchen was very surprising. When I cooked one evening the steam came down to my shoulders. Finally, finding an empty red wine bottle in one of the kitchen cupboards did not go down well.

Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties.
