We enjoyed the silence, the fresh air and last but not least the hospitality of our hosts. The house is a very good, fully equiped and homely base to discover the mesmerising Wicklow mountains and Dublin. Our children especially enjoyed the company of your daughters, and all the the animals!

  • "Cottage was a little tired and would benefit from a little bit of sprucing up, like a rug or mat in the lounge, and the mattress in the main bedroom was definitely past its time."

However the hosts were extremely helpful and hospitable people. We had a lovely time in the area.

  • "This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay."

Hosts were fantastic in every way and personable too! The house was clean, well appointed, in an absolutely beautiful location. The cottage is adorable!!! There was a hike that was right off the property that was my favorite in all of Ireland - weaving through rock fences and wild sheep with herds of deer and viewpoints that were breathtaking. Property owners are on site (a house next door) and were extremely helpful. Highly recommend!

  • "The property was in a lovely area surrounded by fields with livestock."

Inside the cottage it felt homely and was equipped with everything you need. Tony was so knowledgeable about the area and things to see. He was able to answer all our questions at the end of the day. The girls came and got us to help feed the poddy lambs. We had a fantastic time and would love to return one day.

  • "Cottage was dirty."

First 3 hours there spent cleaning. Mira shower unit was not working properly and on our first night the shower drain was comletely blocked. Cottage lacks privacy as there are no downstairs curtains. Nowhere to hang or store clothes in the bedrooms apart from 2 hangers on the back of each bedroom door..Extremely limited headroom in the bedrooms.

  • "Beautiful cottage with great views of the mountains and close to the lake."

Caroline and Tony were wonderful hosts. Very helpful giving us tips for some walks close by and places for me to buy some wintery gear / footwear. They very kindly invited us into their home for a drink on Christmas morning when we took them a cheesecake which made our Christmas as we were sad to be having to spend it away from our families as we had originally planned! We will definitely return in the future hopefully under different circumstances and in warmer months when we can hopefully explore some of the mountain walks a little more. As stated on the listing, there is no wifi in the cottage and very little phone signal as the walls are so thick. We have managed to overcome this by placing one of our phones outside in a plastic bag and hot spotting our other devices from that. Other facilities in the cottage are great, we've loved having the fire going each evening although we haven't really needed it for warmth as the underfloor heating works really well. The kitchen is great, plenty of space and well equipped with an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher (I love cooking so this is perfect for me). There was even a washing machine for us to wash our clothes in which we were very pleased about as we have gotten a bit muddy on some of the walks and due to our circumstances (waiting to fly to Australia) don't have many warm clothes with us. We absolutely loved staying at Kylebeg Cottage, it was like a home away from home and was exactly what we needed over the festive period. The only problems we encountered were with Sykes Cottages when trying to extend our stay other than that it was a very pleasant experience.

Very nice and quiet place. Perfect for enjoying the countryside and hiking in the Wicklows. It is also possible to go to Dublin for the day. Renting close to Blessington where you can find shops, which is very convenient. The renting is not easy to find. Hint : the road that leads the rental follows a stream and there is the owner's house close to the rental.

It is in very attractive surroundings. However, it is quite remote and a drive of 15 minutes or so to the nearest town, Blessington. As regards the accommodation - the bedroom has a low sloping ceiling that can be awkward and the water heating system makes a periodic very loud rumble that can be heard everywhere in the cottage.
