  • "We had a lovely stay at the Heronry, stunning countryside views & very peaceful."

The barn is maybe a little worn in a place or to but very warm, cosy & comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

  • "Absolutely loved our stay at The Heronry, certainly has the wow factor as soon as you walk in."

Stunning views throughout the property, extremely spacious and equipped with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. The grounds are extremely clean and tidy with lots of wildlife to see. We booked this property as close to Gretna where we were getting married. Perfect place to chill and relax. Dog friendly too.

  • "What can I say, this place is beautiful, peaceful and a wonderful place to come and stay and relax!"

Close to explore various different areas whether in England or Scotland! We were warmly welcomed, check in and out was very smooth and friendly. The Heronery is gorgeous, the views across the river and fields are so scenic to look out onto every day, didn’t close the blinds once to enjoy it every day!

  • "The Heronry is such a beautiful place to stay."

The views are stunning, we spotted many varieties of birds, and even woodpeckers sat in the tree right next to the window. We were in awe. Watching the squirrels from the hot tub on our first day was truly something special and just knew we were going to love our stay. Thank you Pauline for the warm welcome and Jared for the lovely communication.

The property is so beautifully decorated and we instantly felt at home as soon as we walked in. We cannot wait to stay again and recharge our batteries!

  • "It is a great place just needing a little TLC to bring it back up."

It is a very peaceful place and makes for a great relaxing and romantic getaway. Only twenty minutes away from Carlisle but so remote you just feel away from everyone. Great scenic windows with some lovely views of the trees and the wee burn, unfortunately never saw the otters but we did see the Heron fly by a couple of times and squirrels running about.
