  • "Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need and more."

Attention to detail and added extras very well thought out. Super comfortable beds, lots of storage and lovely large TV in the lounge. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Owner very responsive and helpful when we had to contact them for a minor issue. We used the local bus for days out in Totnes and Exeter which made a nice change from driving. Buckfast Abbey, Totnes, Brixham and Dartmouth were all lovely places to visit. We had a lovely Chinese from the takeaway in the village, excellent fish and chips in Torquay and a very enjoyable meal at the King William IV in Totnes. Would definitely recommend Hope Cottage and look forward to returning in the future.

  • "Hope cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable."

The Welcome pack, and dog provisions were generous and considerate. It is worth bearing in mind that if you have a dog that likes to be let out just before bedtime, and first thing in the morning, it’s a bit of a jaunt to find some grass.

  • "The best Cottage that we ever stay , absolutely brilliant 10 out of 10"

That’s so lovely to hear! So glad you had a wonderful stay. I would also like to thank you for leaving the cottage so spotlessly clean and tidy. Hope you return one day. Kindest regards Emma Property Owner

  • "Emma the owner has thought of everything including a practical welcome pack (so essential!"

) doggie pack, hand wash and washing up things. A good choice of books on the local area and immaculately clean. The cottage is to a high standard and her decoration is first class and her hard work is evident. Even the log burner has a generous pile unlike some with a meagre amount we only used it once but with winter approaching having this will be a big bonus. The location is ideal in the village and we had no problem parking 5 mins away and unloaded just in the private car park opposite and moved it swiftly. A handy walk cut through at end of this car park to co op. A visitors book would be nice for local tips. Highly recommend the steam railway and butterflies visit. This is walkable.

Dear Caroline Thank you for such kind comments, so pleased you enjoyed your stay here in Buckfastleigh . Thank you for taking the time to review Hope Cottage. We hope you return! Kind regards Emma Property Owner

  • "Beautifully designed cottage with everything you would need for a break away, a real home from home retreat."

Little extras such as a welcome pack, dog treats and toiletries just made it that even more special. Car parking was fine, unloaded just to the side of the row of cottages and then parked just around the corner by the outdoor pool for for the duration with no problems. Plenty to do locally, trip on the steam train to Totnes, Buckfast Abbey, outdoor heated pool, butterfly farm plus plenty of amenities in the village. Great place, had a lovely break! Just one small niggle was how busy the little road the cottage is on. It does get pretty busy at times and quite noisy when the delivery vehicles reverse up the lane early morning but it’s not constant and absolutely didn’t spoil our stay. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage!

Sounds like you had a great time exploring the area and all the attractions we have on our door step, thank you for taking the time to review Hope Cottage Vanessa. Many thanks! Property Owner

We would recommend staying there. The village is very quiet and you would need to travel. It’s in a lovely area and not to far to other towns and attractions.. You have to park in the local car parks that we always got a space what ever time we came back.
