  • "Beautiful property which has been sympathetically renovated in a great location within walking distance of the beach."

    Very clean comfortable property and well equipped. Only slight negative was that pillows were hard and not very comfortable. Bit difficult to find the property (we arrived in the dark) so better signage on the entrance would be a help.

  • "Stunning house, beautifully converted and furnished."

    A very well equipped property. Plenty of wood available for the burner on chilly nights. A 10 minute walk to a nice pub that serves food lunch and dinner. A further 5 minutes walk to an RNLI guarded beach that is popular with surfers. Make sure you follow the owners directions to the property and not sat nav as the owners know the best roads to get there

  • "A wonderful comfortable barn in a great location."

  • "Lovely house and amazing location."

    Just a couple of things which didn't bother us at all but might be helpful for other guests: we couldn't get the dyson hoover to work properly even on the max setting as instructed, tried to hoover round before we left but had to give up! The listing says there's a nespresso machine so we took coffee pods but it's not it's a ground coffee machine so maybe amend that. Garden is good for dogs as enclosed and the artificial grass means no muddy pawprints in and out, but dogs who can jump high need to be supervised as the wall and gate are jumpable if they want to. Our big dogs didn't attempt it though. Really loved it and would book again thank you.

    Also found beds though very comfy were rather high to get on to easily. Ditto mirror (too high) in ground floor en suite. Appreciated hosts' welcome gift

  • "The cottage is lovely."

    Very cosy and well furnished. Everything you need is provided, including soap and washing up liquid. The back garden is lovely and sunny, perfect for dogs, too. We enjoyed eating our meals in the garden and catching the sun on the comfy sun loungers. The location is beautiful, very private and quiet, but still only minutes away from the beautiful Bantham beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at the milking shed."

    Liza and Guy were the best hosts we have ever had, really friendly and genuinely interested in whether we had everything we needed, and were happy. Liza discovered I had a love of swimming as does she and took me early morning sea swimming with her. We had the best weekend and will definitely go back next year!

  • "Lovely stay with our daughter, son in law and two grand daughters and two small dogs."

    Beautiful, spacious property, with quality fittings. Enclosed secure garden, so safe for the dogs. Great location, walking distance to Bantham beach and the village pub. Great food served here, which is also dog friendly.

  • "A great stay!"

    In a well appointed home that would be hard to surpass and that's located in a spot equally so. The welcome wine, olives and local chilli jam were very appreciated after a very long drive, Instructions for the house were detailed and left nothing to chance. It was lovely to meet Guy the owner and we wish he and his wife Lisa, all the very best for the future. We hope to stay again!

The property

The Old Milking Shed is an immaculately presented, beautifully converted barn.

Just a 15 minute walk from the popular sandy beach of Bantham, and a five minute 'stagger' from the 14th Century pub, The Sloop, the property has been sensitively developed as an annex to the adjacent owner's accommodation, sleeping up to six adults.

Original features including stonework and oak beams have been retained, whilst contemporary fittings, the latest appliances and beautiful bathrooms have been added to create a stylish coastal retreat.

The property offers a sociably-located kitchen with Siemens appliances, and open-plan living/dining areas perfect for entertaining, including a comfortable sitting room with wood-burning stove for cosy nights in, and a delightful sunroom for enjoying your morning coffee!

The accommodation is presented over two floors, with three good sized bedrooms (including the master bedroom on the ground floor), all offering stylish en suite facilities.

With a private, South-West facing garden, plenty of parking for 2-3 cars and a small dinghy or boat trailer, and an outside shower for rinsing off sandy dogs or children after a day at the beach, the property makes the ideal base for a seaside break all year round.
