  • "Wow,this is the best holiday let we have stayed in."

Everything you need for a perfect, relaxing holiday .very comfortable warm and welcoming,a lovely garden to sit and relax with a coffee or glass of wine. The hosts are a lovely couple ,there if you need anything. The area is very peaceful,it is only 5 min from town in a car or approx 30 min walk which we have done, the only negative was we had to go home at the end of the week.So we have booked another 2 weeks for next year. Thank you so much Hedley and Megan for a wonderful holiday

Being a tall person, the very large comfortable bed was a bonus and we slept well. The owners were friendly and welcoming and were immediately to hand if required, but did not intrude on our stay. We were completely satisfied with Peonies - thank you.

We have never rented a cottage before. We were so pleased that it matched the picture and the description. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The people who own it live next door, and they were so welcoming. Exmouth had so much to offer and the surrounding area was really beautiful to explore. I would definitely book another cottage with Sykes.

Although on a main road, it's location we rarely heard any traffic. The accommodation was comfortable and we had everything we needed. We were met on our first day by the owner who gave us an explanation regarding the property and local advice for the area. We enjoyed our holiday in spite of some mixed weather.

  • "We had a fantastic time at Peonies with great weather, which always helps."

We had read reports about not being able to get at the cutlery draw due to the draw hitting the oven, but it is so easily overcome by just opening the oven door, no hardship in that respect. The owners greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome and had a chat on the day of departure. There was a lovely outside area for sitting in the garden to catch the last moments of the sun before it set. The bed was the most comfortable one we had ever had and allowed a good nights sleep. The complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated. We would hope that we would be able to go there again in the near future.

Thank you for completing your feedback. We have discussed the points raised with the owner who confirms the shower seal has now been fixed, in relation to the cutlery drawer the owner explained prior to your arrival that the cutlery drawer had to be opened in a certain way and was saddened to read your comments suggesting immediate attention was needed to rectify this. Due to the compact design of the kitchen the cutlery drawer needs to be opened in a particular way. Property Owner

The house is in a great location, just a short 3-4 min drive to the main town with shops and lovely restaurants around and to walk it would have taken around 30mins. Gorgeous garden too which is very clearly well taken care of. I would definitely recommend it for any age visitor.

Although very small it is comfortable and well equipped. A very good sized front facing double bedroom with a luxurious comfortable bed. Bathroom with walk in shower plus a galley style kitchen. Outside a lovely garden , enclosed and very peaceful and quiet. The owners Hedley and Meghan are on hand if you require them , helpful but not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peonies and would highly recommend this cottage for a quiet relaxing holiday.

There were shelves where you needed them, lamps placed just right, lots of hooks, a chair in the porch for changing your shoes - all those little things that actually make your holiday more enjoyable. Hedley and Megan were friendly and helpful but unobtrusive so we were able to relax in our adjacent garden area and just feel comfortable. We were unsure about the location but the walk into town only took 25-30 minutes, or a ten minute walk to a bus stop, with buses every 15 minutes during the day. And the walk along the Exe estuary was excellent - don't miss it!
