The property

Always is a beautiful, character cottage settled into the countryside village of Five Lanes near Launceston.

With access to the beautiful walks of Bodmin Moors, this tasteful abode is ideal for a family or friends looking to escape to the countryside of Cornwall.

Be welcomed into a beautiful living/dining room, with character features such as slate flooring, wooden beams, and an exposed stone fireplace housing a woodburning stove.

Here you can recline with a good book, or dine together at the table, over a glass of fizz.

Hearty meals can be cooked in the contemporary kitchen, and there is a second pretty sitting room, also with the added bonus of a welcoming woodburning stove, ideal for catching up on a good book.

On the ground floor you will find a shower room, and the bedrooms await on the first floor, each being well presented and offering storage for all of your belongings.

Choose between a king-size, double, and twin, each with their own character and charm.

Freshen up in the sleek ground-floor shower room, or enjoy a soak in the tub in the first-floor bathroom.

When the sun is shining, head outside into the garden space and dine alfresco.

Five Lanes is a quaint village settled onto the edge of Bodmin Moors, offering a local pub, The Kings Head, and a convenience store for all of your holiday essentials.

Close to many walks and historic sites, there is a surplus of places to visit to pique your interest, including Leskernick Stone Circle, Trippet Stone Circle, Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall, and Nine Stones Stone Circle.

For more eateries, pubs, cafes, and restaurants, as well as a selection of independent stores, head over to Launceston, where you can also find the ruins of Launceston Castle.

For a day at the seaside, visit Tintagel, Trebarwith Strand or Boscastle, and the many close by beaches, and there are also watersports facilities available close by.

There is simply so much to be explored with a stay at Always.

About the location

FIVE LANES

Launceston 8 miles.

The small village of Five Lanes is situated just off the A30, less than 10 miles from Launceston and is home to the Kings Head pub and hotel, which was built in 1623. The pretty, neighbouring village of Altarnun offers a village shop, a Post Office and church, which is known as "the cathedral of the moors" plus long walks can be enjoyed around the local area. Eight miles away is the town of Launceston, on the Devon and Cornwall border. This town boasts wonderful architecture, including Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Within driving distance is the Tamar Otter Park, or why not take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley? This area is near to The Camel Trail, which is part of the National Cycle Network. There’s plenty to see and do in the area, including visiting the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow, as well as the city of Plymouth, and the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor are well worth exploring. A lovely base for your Cornish adventure.
