  • "The cottage was lovely, well equiped and location was perfect."

It was nice to have the good set of children's toys. A fairly significant issue for us was the lack of a bannister between the stairs and the kitchen, which was really quite dangerous for our 2 year old, who nearly fell through a couple of times. It became a source anxiety during our stay. I think this would and should be easily rectified urgently, as it's not only dangerous for small kids. I was concerned that we were asked to put recycling in the single big bin (does this get sorted through? It's fairly basic and expected these days! I noticed other houses had recycling bags). And a last minor point was that we were asked to strip the beds and clean- a hangover from COVID? We paid good money for house, and asked to be out by 10, so would prefer you pay a cleaner for the time to sort this rather than us.

  • "We have stayed at 12 Mill Green numerous times and as always it was lovely."

The cottage was very cosy even though it was a cold week in January, however we were very lucky with the weather as it was dry and sunny. Lyme is our favourite place for a holiday and we definitely be back to stay in this lovely cottage.

  • "Beautifully restored old terraced cottage with a pleasant herb garden and in a central location, a short walk down to the Mill, micro brewery and Ship Inn."

The parking space at the back is an important asset. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped overall, but a bit short on cutlery and crockery, just 4 place settings. We had an issue with the key safe. On arrival we found it very difficult to read the figures to enter the code, even with a torch, and when we were leaving we could not open it to return the keys. We had to phone and a very helpful man arrived promptly. He couldn’t open it either and said it was not in working order. However we were impressed with the way the issue was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Thank you for your comments we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday and facilities offered by the cottage. We're pleased that we were able to assist you with accessing the key safe. We believe that the wrong code was being entered to access the key safe causing the issue, and it (and the external light) have since been checked and found to be in working order. The owner has checked the crockery and cutlery and advises that there are plenty available to guests. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "On arrival we found that both toilet seats were loose and we had to report this but they were fixed same day."

The bin was full of used nappies which was unpleasant and we feel these should have been removed from the property prior to our arrival. The BBQ was very dirty and we had to buy cleaning materials and spend time cleaning it before we could use it. The keys that were provided to us did not include the Yale lock on the front door which resulted in us getting locked out - we had to phone to be let back in - we were told that this had happened lots of times with this property and was only given the key to the Yale lock at this point. Why was this key not provided?

Thank you for your comments and we are pleased that we were able to assist you with the toilet seats. The owner does provide a BBQ for guests use, but guests are asked to leave it clean for future use. The property has a commercial rubbish collection on a Monday, so it may be that the bin wasn't presented for collection. We do appreciate that it is unpleasant to find other peoples rubbish and we would have alleviated this for you. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Well appointed cottage with contemporary up to date decor."

As good as home from home with all the equipment, comfort and luxury you want. This place is maintained well. Good location very close to restaurants, beach with one parking space. Thoughtful items included such as books, games, hand soaps, welcome pack. This is our third stay in Lyme and by far the best accommodation. We hope to return. There is an outside street light which does light the front bedroom at night should you need a dark room to fall asleep.

  • "Superb property in excellent location."

Extremely comfortable furnishings and very good quality appliances. Lovely sun-trap garden. Everything supplied for a perfect holiday and also the benefit to have Saturday to Saturday changeover - this is becoming difficult to find. Travelling on Fridays is a nightmare.

  • "The cottage was perfect location, clean, cosy and just perfect for us."

The welcome bag was such a good touch. The kitchen was really well equipped, garden lovely and over all excellent! We had such a wonderful time. It really was the most wonderful few days. The only negative was having to strip the beds and take the bed linen off! We paid almost £1000 for 3 nights. You would never be expected to do this in a hotel, so why we were asked to do this here is not impressive. Covid is not a good enough reason or excuse any more. Whoever is employed to come in a clean should be doing that, like any other hotel, B&B, airbnB. You should not be asking your clients to do this.

  • "A lovely cottage in an excellent position."

Our only gripe is that the pillows in the single bedded room are very thin and we didn't find the second pillows in the double bedroom wardrobe until we were about to leave! The duvets are very small as well so that they fall off during the night! Otherwise we can thoroughly recommend the cottage. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone in to providing a perfect holiday home.

12 Mill Green was far and away the BEST!!! It has been beautifully decorated, good quality furnishings and comfortable beds & pillows!! The garden is stunning, a perfect sun-trap for an evening BBQ. It really was a wonderful stay, definitely booking again next year!

  • "A lovely well equipped comfortable character cottage furnished to a high standard."

Great location quiet but minutes away from the town centre and beach with the added bonus of its own garden and parking space We were luckily to have great weather during our stay, the only thing we felt was missing was a parasol to offer some shade in the lovely sunny garden. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

A parasol has now been added in the garden. Thank you for your lovely review, hope to see you again. Property Owner
