"Cosy, comfortable cottage, very well equipped & very quiet during our stay."
We loved the little secluded garden. Welcome hamper was much appreciated. Good location for visiting surrounding area, especially walks on SW Coast path. We could find no criticism, the only problem might be the entrance width from the road. Our car was fine as it is only small but would be quite tight for bigger cars.

"The property has a very romantic look about it."
The drive in is extremely tight and on one occasion I scratched my car. The alternative village cr park mentioned is small and always full. The kitchen is fully stocked with good quality items, however some are quite worn such as the frying pans and the knives need sharpening. The seating in the kitchen looks bigger on the photo and doesnt really work practically. The kitchen is cold. The bathrooms are fresh and the underflood heating is amazing. All the hooks on doors are really handy. The bedrooms are comfortable and the view vwry pretty, the main bedroom could do with a new layout as you have to really bend aideways to make it to the chest of drawers. The living room is the main disappointment, it looks charming in the photos but feels dirty and dark even though it is actually very clean. The covers on the seating and sofa are drab. The wall that is grey with the timbers just looks dirty why not paint it white. The fure place is really lovely but overall this is a very dark room , which is a shame. The area is very quiet which is delightful, no noisy neighbours or traffic or seagulls to wake you.
Glad you enjoyed the stay. The car park at the village hall is very large and is never full.. I think you probably only found the small parking at the post office - village hall is other direction. The cottage dates to 1640 and is thick Devon walls, with characterful Devon windows - lighting is in character. I’m surprised you refer to cold - did you turn on/up the storage heater? We have never had reference to cold before, the cottages are cosy and of course the thatch is like a duvet!

"Spent the week at End Cottage in July 2025, and had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay."
The cottage is a beautiful thatched roof cottage, full of charm and character. It was peaceful and quiet, and in a great location for public transport to other places in the local area. We were staying there whilst walking the coastal footpath, and as we'd traveled down by train, we were using the local buses / taxis to get around. Malborough itself is a great location, with regular buses to Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Totnes, as well as some of the other local villages. Only several smaller villages required a taxi to get to. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and had everything we needed. The only issue we encountered during the week was a seized up door lock to the main back door. This was already very difficult to open during our stay and eventually seized up after several days. However, we contacted Coast & Country Cottages, and they responded promptly and efficiently, and the issue was rectified within one day. Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage and also in a beautiful part of Devon. Would highly recommend End Cottage and also Coast & Country Cottages.

"This is a charming cottage, clean and warm and with furnishings in sympathy with its olde worlde feel."
I loved the secluded garden which was properly cared for and in a cottage garden style. We booked the cottage when it was at a discounted price. I have to be honest and say we probably wouldn't have gone ahead and booked it at the full price! Nonetheless we had a lovely stay!

"The house is lovely and cozy."
Really clean and comfortable. The only advice is to avoid driving through the gate and use the free car park by the community center.

"Lovely little character cottage set within a courtyard of beautiful old thatched properties."
Warm and cosy and very well equipped with everything you need. Super views over the rolling South Devon countryside from the comfy main bedroom.
And a sunny secret garden for an evening glass of wine!
Accurately described on the listing, parking and accessibility for one small to medium car with plenty of free parking in the village carpark.
A really enjoyable 4 days, the only slight hitch was the main bedroom was not made up when we arrived but I called the number supplied in the folder and the cleaning company brought out the bedding very promptly.

"The access is definitely less than 1."
8m at its base and my car recieved paintwork damage..we would recommend that it would be advisable to unload and load vehicles in the street and park at the village hall..the local resident with a town car had damaged lower body work accessing his property on site.
Details on listing are correct, important to approach the entrance from post office direction not main road direction. The comment about resident having a problem is not true as all residents have driven through with no problem for decades!
