• "Stayed Christmas week."

  Fab cottage, had everything we needed. Lots of cooking utensils, pots pans etc. Log burner was stunning and endless logs were available. Amber was so helpful and accommodating and was on hand if needed. Hot tub was fab for a dip on Christmas day such fun. Cottage was clean cosy and comfortable. • "We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Southcott Farm Cottage!"

  We were very welcomed by Amber and Nellie when we first arrived. Amber showed us around and left us to it. All the little touches made our stay special; home made scones, doggy treats, blankets for the sofas(our dogs like to snuggle by us while watching TV and Amber and Kevin understood that!) Amber and Kevin were always happy to help; we needed a spare crate, a stair gate and a mop and bucket to clean the mucky paw prints(just a text to Amber and it was brought over to us). We all enjoyed the walks on the land, especially the pond. Nathan and Katie took the rowing boat out and the dogs loved to swim around trying to catch them! The enclosed field was a win too, it was so lovely to get up in the morning, take a couple of steps and let the dogs run around first thing. This cottage has literally everything you could ask for..and more! We will be booking and visiting again in the very near future. Thanks again to Amber, Kevin and Nellie! - Steff, Carl, Nathan, Katie and the puppies; Xena, Luna and Athena(hopefully we will be joined by Cooper next time too)

• "Perfect escape , beautiful dwelling and location ."

  Lovely blend of charming cottage and rural living but easily accessible to major Supermarket and town . Dog owners please note the property is completely secure which for me and my dogs is essential but not always highlighted . Highly recommend a visit .

• "We absolutely loved this little cottage, it felt like home from home."

  Amber and Kevin were really welcoming and the little touches were great like the fire being ready to light when we got there a breakfast welcome basket and milk and juice in the fridge, a doggie welcome basket with all the doggie essentials and the use of a dog cage. All the local walks were lovely and being able to use an enclosed field on the land for the dogs. The beds were super comfy and the hot tub was great. We would definitely book again.

• "A lovely, well equipped cottage."

  Everything you could need and more with lots of little extras supplied, in a very peaceful area. Plenty of information about places to visit and it was great to watch the parachutes and gliders, which are nearby, when you're back at the cottage after a day out sightseeing.

• "This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in."

  The hosts Amber and Kevin (plus Nellie) are very welcoming. The scones left by Amber are some of the best we ever had. The cottage has everything you need. A hot tub, a fab bathroom, large comfortable beds. The dog(s) are also made very welcome. There's bowls, towels, treats, and leads for them. A gem of a cottage in beautiful surrounding countryside and not too far from the sea.

• "Thank you to Amber & Kevin, for a lovely Cottage to stay in for the week."

  Sadly our arrival time was delayed by several hours due to car trouble. Amber & Kevin had no problem with this & even left us a welcome de stress treat in the fridge! Along with a lovely welcome basket of goodies. The gluten free scones were a lovely touch, as well as making sure I had some dairy free milk was very kind of you too. The Cottage is lovely & quiet & well stocked with more than expected. We bought our own games to play and was happy to see a cupboard full of games too. We have friends/family that live in, Cullompton & so it was lovely that they were able to join us for an evening of BBQ, games & hot tub. We enjoyed the local walks & going to see the horse just up the lane. They really helped to build Joshua's confidence around animals. A nice relaxing week had by us all. Thank you. • "Loved this cottage!"

  Amber was the perfect host, she was there is needed, but didn’t invade your privacy. You couldn’t be made to feel more welcome, lots of personal touches. We had 4 dogs and 2 young grandchildren, and we were all welcome! The weather wasn’t on our side, but it didn’t matter, as the hot tub was used tai or shine, and in July we was able to make use of the wood burner! We had a fabulous week!

• "We were in need of a relaxing break, Southcott farm cottage has that in bucket fulls."

  Beautiful countryside, lovely well stocked cottage, everything you could need but more importantly want, a wonderful hot tub to relax in and watch the stars from, the log fire ready to light, which was fabulous! The lake to relax by and fish should you wish, the sheep moving around the fields.. the list goes on! But what it also has... is the most wonderful host. Amber and of course the gorgeous Nellie! To be greeted after a long journey in such a lovely way was just so wonderful, thank you! Then to find the lovely cream tea waiting for us in the cottage, not to mention the welcome hamper for both us and our puppy! • "What a lovely Cottage, very clean and fresh and everything you could ask for."

  Amber was lovely and Nellie the dog welcomed us with a waggle tail. A very good base to lots of places to visit. The sat nav took us right to the door. Had a lovely basket of goodies waiting for us including home made Scones, jam and clotted cream

• "This is an amazing cottage if you are looking for peace and quiet."

  The only sound is the birds singing. Amber made us very welcome as did the lovely Nellie. We sat down by the pond and watched Nellie help Kevin clear the weeds which was very entertaining. Honiton is close by where from we went on day trips by train. I would 100% recommend this lovely cottage and the very lovely owners. Thanks guys would love to return one day.

• "Lovely relaxing location and cottage."

  Plenty of local forest walks and easy access to travel further afield. Kitchen well equipped, warming log burner and relaxing hot tub. We visited during a hot week in June so the cool shaded forest walks were idea for our dog. Would love to visit again in the future.

• "We have had an absolutely fantastic week at the cottage."

  On arrival the welcome pack with treats for the dogs and humans was absolutely lovely and delicious. The paddock and lake proved to be a dogs paradise and the hot tub provided a real spa experience for us. Would definitely recommend to all my family and friends and have done already. The cottage was very cosy and the use of the woodburner was really warm in the evenings. The owners were very supportive and our 4 dogs took a real shine to Nellie. We have had a thoroughly enjoyable weeks holiday., thankyou.

• "Excellent property with kind and attentive hosts."

  Unfortunately we weren’t able to work the log fire, so Amber provided an electric radiator. The dogs loved running in the fields.

  Glad we were able to be a support and that we could work out a solution when the log burner doesn’t suit everyone. • "A wonderful, cosy dog-friendly cottage, tastefully furnished and in a peaceful location, yet not too far off the beaten track."

  Beautiful woodland dog-walks nearby. Good road access to beaches further afield. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, as was our dog. There was a generous welcome pack for us and a thoughtful package for the dog as well. A perfect location to wind down and de-stress, made all the more relaxing by the hot tub.

• "Family of four - two adults and two young children."

  We had a wonderful break at Southport Farm Cottage, which, whilst rural, is perfectly located for good access to all that Devon and Dorset has to offer. Our host Amber, was very welcoming, with excellent communication throughout the stay and was on hand to support were needed. A minor issue following a power trip was quickly addressed with minimal fuss. Amber goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable, providing an ample welcome pack including breakfast items and freshly baked scones, jam and cream; and access to ample firewood for the log burner. Doggy treats, dog towels and extra towels for the hot tub were also provided, making our stay even more comfortable. A personal highlight was the lack of light pollution allowing for late night hot tub soaks under fantastic starry skies. Thanks Amber (and Nellie the dog) for making us most welcome. We would, without hesitation, visit again and recommend to friends and family. Thanks S & L.

• "We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

  A lovely place for a 'get away from it all' escape. The cottage is beautifully decorated but feels very homey and cosy. Everything you need for self catering is provided, with a very well equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable and have nice quality bed linen and good pillows. It was also extremely dog friendly with throws provided for sofas and no restrictions. The owners are friendly and helpful without being intrusive and responded immediately to any problems. Our dogs were allowed to use the adjoining field which was appreciated for early morning and late evening runs. There is miles of woodland surrounding the property. There is a forest walk very close by and more forest walks within one or two miles drive which are all suitable for long off lead walks for lively dogs. The hot tub is the icing on the cake, lovely for a soak looking up at the stars after a days walking.

• "This was a last minute booking and Amber was very accommodating."

  The welcome pack on arrival was amazing with everything to get us started, she had thought about the children and what they may like. The cottage is well equipped if you are looking to self cater or equally well placed for local pubs for evening meals or takeaways. We all loved the hot tub which was a nice treat! Location wise it's a great base to explore Devon and Dorset. We enjoyed some trips into Dartmoor National Park to see the wild ponies and other animals. Children's activities would recommend the miniature pony centre in Dartmoor, Go Ape at Haldon. There's a lovely walk to the Avon Dam where you can also see the wild pigs. We all had a nice relaxing break away - thank you!

  We had a warm welcome with a very thoughtful welcome basket. The cottage is gorgeous with an endless supply of logs for the fire. The walks straight from the cottage were glorious, the pond was a hit with the dogs. We did have a small problem while staying which was fixed same day before we got back home from a day trip. There is nothing to fault with either the property or the hosts. Amber and Kevin made our holiday perfect.we will definitely stay again (and again and again)

• "We had the most wonderful week, weather was kind and the area outstanding."

  We were given a warm welcome upon arrival, lovely goodies basket also. The hot tub was lovely, used every day. If you have dogs it's perfect walking, some from the door and the rest within easy distance. A visit to Charmouth was perfect mid week, sun shining and very happy dogs.

  Amber and Kevin were very welcoming and the cream tea and treats were fabulous, they also gave us some great recommendations for eating out, best beaches and local attractions. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped and the beds were so comfy. It is in such a peaceful location but only a short drive to the coast and Exeter. The hot tub was enjoyed by all. Very dog friendly with lovely local walks and the best basket of treats for Benji we have ever had. Thank you for a fantastic week we will be back.

• "You can see the care and thought that’s gone into this cottage."

  It has everything you need and more. What a lovely surprise finding wonderful scones with jam and cream, milk, bread butter and more. The dog also had plenty of treats too and the idea of the extra dog tag with cottage address on was very good. The hot tub was a treat after returning from a long dog walk. I would recommend the cottage it’s in a beautiful part of Devon and a beautiful cottage. The owners even though they live next door are not intrusive at all. I will be rebooking.

• "What an amazing cottage."

  Made very welcome by Amber and Kevin. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated, even goodies for our 2 poochies. The cream tea on arrival was to die for and it was the best we had all holiday. Southcott cottage was a perfect base to visit other areas of Devon and Cornwall, and when we got back after a day out we had a soak in the hot tub which was heaven. Super dog friendly. We have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK and Southcott was by far the best. We shall be recommending this cottage to everyone we know because in our opinion everyone should experience Southcott Cottage. Very quite location which was perfect for us.

• "Perfect!…."

  We were looking for a countryside setting to relax, walk the dog and a base from which to venture out each day. We found exactly that. From our pre holiday message, warm scones and cream tea on arrival our hosts were both friendly and extremely accommodating. Local recommendations, the use of land and the property were all part of the unwritten “package”. We were all made to feel very welcome including our young Vizsla. The cottage was of a high standard and well equipped. And the hot tub was fab, even in the rain!

  There's even a pond if you fancied a bit of swimming! The cottage was lovely and relaxing and provided us with everything we needed. The welcome pack was amazing and even the dogs weren't left out, provided with a jar of dog treats!
