Known as the gateway to Exmoor, Dulverton offers the River Barle, which flows under a Grade I listed, 3000 year old stone clapper bridge. The town also boasts pretty buildings and medieval winding streets, along with a wealth of award winning restaurants and pubs, quality gift shops and tea rooms. The spectacular North Devon coast is within driving distance with the picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth well worth visiting. Spend a day at the wonderful sandy beaches of Croyde Bay, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands, all of which provide fabulous opportunities for surfing. East Anstey is an ideal base to explore the magnificent rolling landscapes of Exmoor and the dramatic North Devon coastline.

Knapp House Cottages

A group of four wonderful holiday lodge apartments set in the grounds of the Grade II listed Knapp House Estate on the outskirts of the village of East Anstey, four miles from the town of Dulverton, known as the gateway to Exmoor. These four purpose-built Dulverton cottages each have their own unique theme and offer quality accommodation. Guests are able to wander freely in the gardens behind the house and there are benches to relax and enjoy a picnic or a glass of bubbly. Knapp House is a beautiful example of a country house designed in the Arts and Crafts style and was built as a hunting lodge in 1907. These Dulverton cottages provide a tranquil retreat from which to explore Exmoor, one of Britain’s greenest National Parks. The National Park has a wealth of pretty villages and walks in open unspoilt countryside. There are National Trust properties and gardens locally, plus sandy beaches with good surfing available at Woolacombe and Croyde Bay. Taking a ride on the Cliff Railway at the picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth is essential. There is excellent fishing, horse riding and shooting in the area or you may just wish to relax in a village pub with a Devon cream tea or a pint of ale.

The Property

A spacious ground floor Dulverton cottage within the grounds of the superb Knapp House boasting an open plan living room with woodburning stove, perfect for snuggling in front of after a bracing walk on Exmoor. This Dulverton cottage has an immaculately presented well-equipped kitchen with a range cooker as part of a large barn style living room with French doors opening onto a patio, ideal for alfresco dining. This Dulverton cottage will ensure plenty of relaxation in a wonderful area. Note: This property is in a group with refs 8527, 8528 and 8529 and together they can accommodate 13.
