It was clean quiet and very cosy. There is everything provided for a relaxing stay. The hot tub was so good after a long day walking and exploring. Our dog Archie made friends with the lady who cleaned the hot tub, she was so lovely and friendly. We would definitely recommend this lovely little cottage.

  • "We had a really good time."

The cottage was so comfortable it felt like home not a holiday home. Everything you need is there including many leaflets with information on where to visit, cab numbers if needed. Just everything has been thought of. The staff are there if you need them, we did not need a thing. The hot tub was maintained in the morning very discreetly. We were not interrupted at all. The hot tub is an added bonus. My grandson loves hot tubs. The location is peaceful and calm. Then when you want to explore there is so much around you do not have to travel for hours. Minehead is less than half a hour away. There are 3 big supermarkets on route. There are beaches all different in their own way. There are castles, museums. We found Watchet Museum really interesting small but so much information you could spend a long time there. There are steam trains. The zoo an across the road from the cottage is small but there is a lot to learn. They have feeding times so you get a a lot of information about The animals they are feeding at that time. There are 2 big wooden pirate ships for children to play on in the outside area. There is another smaller play area in the cafe. All in all we had great holiday calmed and chilled when we wanted to be. exploring our surroundings when we were ready. The Orchard Cottage a great place to stay. We were sad to leave. We still have a few places to visit so we will be back

The cottage felt like a home from home. Spacious and comfortable except for the beds. WiFi was hit and miss. Hot tub excellent. Extremely clean, and everything was there when needed. On the one occasion we had a problem (the toaster blew a fuse) Loyd was over within 5 minutes to deal with it.

Hot tub is a welcome addition. Our weeks stay was very enjoyable. Only negative is the two pubs close by can’t be easily reached without using the main roads so a bit precarious at night. We opted for a local taxi company. Mark at Mr Cabs was excellent and reliable.

  • "Orchard Cottage was lovely as were the ladies who came each day to clean and sort the hottub which was a great addition."

Lots of outdoor space and a fabulous sun trap. We enjoyed watching the squirrels feed on the plums as we enjoyed a cocktail in the hot tub! Inside was clean, tidy and felt very covid safe. Kitchen well stocked for cooking in. The sofas weren’t the most comfy but more than adequate for a short stay. We were a family of 4 adults as our kids are now on their 20s and a dog. It did feel a little small but again worked perfectly fine but I’m not sure we would go with another couple. The bathroom is set up like a wet room with underfloor heating and a wonderful shower. Location great for trips to Watchet, Exmoor, Minehead and general exploring. We enjoyed a visit to the Cider Farm down the road where we had lunch. We also had fish and chips and an Indian in Watchet both very good. We hadn’t appreciated Orchard Cottage was part of a the Shells complex of lodges and cottages. All were well spaced out, with hot tubs and exceptionally well maintained grounds. We would recommend.

Which was cleaned every day. Lloyd was on hand for anything that needed attention. The cottage we stayed in was a bit bijou for 4 adults but with the outside space it was fab , and sat out in the warm evenings. There are larger holiday accommodation at Shells ….. Garden not enclosed but not over looked so private ( we had a dog) so had to keep him on a lead . Dunster is a must to visit. We had trips out to the zoo (across the road from cottage) Minehead, Weston Super Mare , Lynton & Lynmouth (beautiful) Cheddar Gorge ( defo) & Taunton Watchet for the Pebbles Pub & order your fish & chips from the chippy next door and eat them in the pub whilst having a cider ….shout out to Dean !! Local taxi firm great and friendly ( they close at 22 00) All in all it’s a great accommodation setup and Lloyd, Lynn and the team are great , We will be re booking Thanks

There was however one fly in the ointment, a rather large one. On previous visits we were able to enjoy the views from our balcony but two lodges have now been built in front of the cottage blocking those views, in fact looking out through the patio doors all you see is the side of one of the lodges. Its understandable that new lodges are being built it is a buisness afterall but it is a shame it was at the expense of what was beautiful views. Having said that we still had a wonderful time and would most likely stay there again in the future.

  • "The lodging was nice as well as the hot tub."

The major problem I had was in leaving. The message that checkout was at 10:00 am was delivered in several notices and in person the day before departure but because of a snow storm a day and half earlier I couldn't leave the property because you didn't plow the entrance road or driveway. I realize this snow storm was very unusual but you had a full day and half to arrange to have someone plow. I ended up shoveling out the driveway myself just so i could meet my plane. This took over 3 hours and it should have been your responsibility to clear your drive to the road, not mine. You shared several times your concern about how are the new guests going to get in yet very little concern over how I was going to leave.
