My only criticism as such, is that as it was dog friendly, that the gardens be enclosed . This wasn’t a big problem by any means but more if a preference on our part as it is easier just to let the dogs out rather than having to put them on a lead.

Not the end of the world but after a 10 mile hike it’s good to have a refreshing shower. The owners were very polite but stayed in the background, We turned up early and the cottage was clean and empty so we went in, the owner did turn up an hour later and we were unpacked and settled and to their credit didn’t make an issue about it, which meant a lot as it was raining heavily and to have had to sit in the car for two hours wouldn’t have been great.

Thank you for your feedback. We work hard to provide an excellent guest experience for our Customers. The feedback that we receive is always very positive. There are no issues with the water pressure at Walnut Cottage and this is the same as any other property. We are always on hand to help Customers with an issues if they are reported to us during their stay. We understand that you arrived early for your stay, this was before we had been in to make the final checks of the cottage after it was thoroughly cleaned. We had to ask for a second which was embarrassing! Also in a cottage with a hot tub more than one towel per adult was definitely needed. Or we ought to be advised to bring our own. There was a washing machine but no dryer so couldn't even wash them. On arrival we had no light... Which was quickly sorted but still not a good first impression. Then shortly after we lost water too. The site manager came in to fix this issue but we were sat having dinner and he worked around us in quite a small space, climbing a ladder millimetres away from my plate. Not good!

  • "The position of the cottage is perfectly private and we felt at ease about our two excited boys playing outside without upsetting people in nearby cottages."

The facilities within the cottage were outstanding, even down to pegs for the washing line, washing up liquid, every type of utensil, pot and pan so that if you wanted to make a full dinner you had the means to do so. I was very pleased to see mattress and pillow protectors on all beds (although I did bring my own waterproof one for my youngest who occasionally gets caught short at night). As well as the standard dustpan and brush, there was a vacuum cleaner and mop and bucket. We even had boxes of games to play as a family. We all enjoyed having underfloor heating in the wet room along with a heated towel rail. Quite simply, it's the most well equip cottage we have ever stayed in. The location of the cottage is great, and very accessible to the main routes around the South West, so day trips were trouble free, and there is a lot to see and do in the area. We found the owners friendly and helpful, and there if you needed them. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we chose to holiday in the area again.

  • "Walnut cottage was really nice."

Site manager Gemma was fabulous - great host and always available. Hot tub was the real selling point to this cottage, well maintained and a very wise investment. Cottage was mostly clean and well equipped. However there are one or two things to note. The garden is not enclosed so dog owners be wary that the 'quick wee' at night requires a lead for roaming pups. The grey gravel surrounding the cottages and parking areas is very dusty and makes a bit of a mess inside. In terms of size, although this is a four person, two bedroom holiday cottage the beds in the second bedroom are bunks and they are small. Probably suitable for a family with little children. The bed in the main bedroom is a double divan with no head board and felt particularly small. It's also on wheels. So if you like to sit up and read in bed you will probably scoot across the room like we did! Completely understand selling a cottage on a website with nice photos but the little touches weren't evident. No cushions on the bed, just the 'no dogs on sofa' cushion, no throws, no little touches in the bathroom as per photos etc. As for cleanliness it was all pretty nice and clean but we did notice huge cobwebs on the skylights that had clearly been there for some time, the coffee table was sticky. Just little things really and nothing so significant it spoilt our holiday but maybe just not quite meeting expectation of a 'luxury' cottage. It is well located for things to do, most of which are at least partially dog friendly. Dunster Castle gardens was a favourite and the Torre cider farm. All in all a nice relaxing break.

Thank you for your feedback. We are currently looking into replacing the divan bed, the bunk beds are standard single size beds. We have now added cushions into the property and the photographs have been updated to show this. We endeavour to keep the property to a consistently high standard with regards to cleanliness. Thank you once more for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Property Owner

  • "We had a great week."

Greeted by Gemma on arrival, showed us around, how things worked, very friendly welcome The property is even better in real life than the pictures. Even having properties around you does not affect your privacy or the peacefulness of this lovely location. Fed the local birds, and watched them feed on the bird table from the lounge. The hot tub is cared for daily which is reassuring for all. The local area has lots to do (some of which will be waiting for our 2nd visit!) We have a dog, and this was great for her, however, if you need a totally secure garden - this garden is in no way secure, its open, with open fences. Comfy beds, clean linen provided.
