  • "Fantastic setting for a holiday!"

Near the sea and surrounded by a beautiful garden. It’s an enchanting house with all you could need. Will definitely go back!

Thank you so much for a lovely feedback, we are really glad that you enjoyed your stay. The house is indeed enchanting, the garden is often visited by deer and pheasants. Property Owner

  • "Lovely character property but in need of tlc etc."

Maybe as the property being on the market the upkeep, maintenance inside and out has been neglected? Shame about modern bathrooms not in keeping with the character of the property

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that you feel the property is in need of updating. The owner has recently spent in excess of £20k decorating and refurbishing the property for the ease and comfort of guests. As I am sure you can appreciate, there is a fine line to be struck between modern changes and characterful features and it won't always be everyone's cup of tea. We thank you for your feedback nonetheless and hope you return to Dorset another time. Property Owner

  • "Our stay at Greystones during ‘storm Henk’ was made all the more bearable by being so cosy and comfortable."

The woodburner a Godsend, once we had found somewhere to buy logs … an initial supply would have been a nice touch, along with a small welcome hamper of local biscuits say, and some milk. (One previous cottage we have stayed in - even provided dog biscuits!) The all around garden aka woods very lovely, and wildlife in abundance. In summer, I can imagine Greystones being glorious!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you so much for your feed back Property Owner

  • "House was v clean and tidy throughout."

We had a lovely few days with my Parents. The Anchor pub and the beach at Seatown was a 20 min walk away and we were very close to Lyme, Charmouth & West Bay. Lots of footpaths v close by to walk the dogs. Trees- The house is quite dark, poss due to lots of overgrown trees but also the weather at this time of year didn’t help. We couldn’t use the garden due to the weather, but I think it would be lovely in the dry/Summer. Driveway - the info regarding the access to the driveway is correct in that its only suitable for med sized cars. We had a Honda CRV and a Peugeot SUV and managed absolutely fine. Heating - this was v high and the radiators were in a ‘locked’ state so couldn’t be adjusted so some info about how to reduce them in the info pack would have been useful. Roof Leak - there is a tracking roof leak in the kitchen, which leaked quite a lot due to the amount of rain-looks likes its been there a while so would have been useful to have this info with details of when it is being addressed.

Hi Hannah. Thank you so much for your feed back it is much appreciated. We are so sorry about the heating, the radiators are brand new and we thought that we had set them up correctly and we left the instructions in the folder in the kitchen cupboard. We thought that we had also left them unlocked. We are aware of the kitchen roof and it is in fact being completely replaced at the end of November, this was the earliest that we could get the builders in, and we wanted to get it replaced before the winter, we hope it did not ruin your holiday too much. Otherwise we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Cottage lovely garden big and well looked after."

Parasol broken so unable to use and weather was really hot would of been good to have shade while eating and sitting out. Unfortunately while there had between 16 to 20 wasps in kitchen and hall every morning. Must have a nest as they were on floor but not quite dead. Took our dogs could of been better if garden made secure. Who ever cleans cottage left it dirty. Dishwasher filthy had to put on a wash on arrival. Tumble dryer dirty had to clean before use. Bedroom furniture never pulled out with items left under valance on bed and under front of cupboards on floor. Wardrobes dirty inside. Bathrooms spotless.

We are sorry to hear the cottage didn't meet our expected cleanliness standards. We would have happily rectified the issues with cleaning and the wasps nest if contacted upon your arrival/during stay. Despite these issues we hope you enjoyed your stay. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Great cottage in a perfect location, we had a wonderful week in lovely Dorset and it was a pleasure to come home at night to this excellent holiday cottage."

The access is tricky but manageable for a medium car (up to BMW size) and the excess of trees makes the house a little dark but for me it is still 5 stars. Heartily recommended, thank you.

Thank you for your feed back. We are glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful family break at Greystones!"

The cottage and garden are so pretty and far exceeded our expectations. Everything has been carefully thought out and made the stay very relaxing and comfortable. The cottage is in a very beautiful location and we enjoyed the short walk to the beach and a drive to Lyme Regis which is also close by.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. It is a little haven. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful location and the property has a beautiful garden."

The interior of the property would benefit from some redecorating but we had three dogs with us so a pristine property would have made us too anxious to let the dogs anywhere but the kitchen. As it was we had a lovely time and would recommend Greystones to dog owners. Our dogs had the best holiday.

Thank you for your lovely review. The cottage is in the process of redecoration and we have the downstairs hall, bedroom and kitchen still to do. We are glad you had a lovely time. Property Owner

  • "The location of the cottage is amazing."

Very peaceful and quiet. The garden is enormous. We had dogs with us and it is unfortunately not an enclosed space there are several places where inquisitive ones could escape. There was no welcome basket as we experienced in other cottages, but the local shop is a short walk away. The walk to the beach is 15 mins and local pubs and beach are really good.

It's lovely to hear that you enjoyed the cottage. The owner has made some recent improvements to the kitchen and heating. Most of our properties provide a welcome hamper of sorts, but unfortunately this one doesn't at the moment but we are in contact with the owner regarding this. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time at Greystones Cottage."

The house is rustic in style but really well equipped and had everything that we needed. The garden is huge and would be lovely in the summer. The location is great, just a 20 minute walk to Seatown beach where we found lots of fossils and the lovely Anchor pub. Some instructions on how to work the hot water would have been helpful, but all in all it was a great cottage and I would absolutely recommend it.

Thank you for your review Catriona. We have taken onboard the hot water issue and have put clearer instructions in. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was vastly overpriced as the listing did not live up to the description given on your website."

The furnishings and decor were dated and the whole place was in need of refurbishment and updating. A more accurate charge for the rental would be in the region of £700 for the week. We all felt we had been overcharged and let down by

Hi thank you for taking the time to feedback after your stay at Greystones Cottage. We are sorry you felt the property was not as described. We go to great lengths to ensure our property descriptions are accurate and informative. Following your feedback we reassessed the photos to confirm these are a true reflection of the property currently and we do feel they correctly portray the property and traditional furniture and dressings on offer. As the property is furnished in a traditional and relaxed style we do understand that this may not suit everyone’s tastes. As with most characterful properties, the owners are regularly planning the next enhancement or remodel, they do intend to upgrade the downstairs bathroom imminently and I know they are sourcing new armchairs for the lounge. They have completely restocked the kitchen crockery, glassware, pans etc and and a redecorating programme is underway. Greystones Cottage enjoys delightful positioning within the large garden in a pretty village, so has a lot to offer guests who want to relax and enjoy our beautiful area. We do hope to welcome you again. Team LBH Property Owner
