Drumbeg 1 mile; Lochinver 15 miles.
Nedd (An Nead - Gaelic for nest) is a small crofting township on the north coast of the parish of Assynt, 15 miles from Lochinver. It is surrounded by ancient native woods and overlooks the sea-loch, Loch Nedd, where there are many different varieties of sea birds as well as seals and occasionally otters. Handa Island, with its famous colony of puffins, is close by. Good trout fishing is available by arrangement on the many hill lochs, as well as salmon fishing and stalking. For hill walkers and climbers, Nedd is an ideal base for exploring Quinag, Suilven, Canisp, Ben More Assynt, Benn Stack, Arkle and Foinaven. The Stoer Lighthouse, Kerrachar, the well known garden, the Caves of Assynt and the 'Moine Thrust', a major geological feature, are all of interest and within easy reach making Nedd a great holiday for the whole family.

There is an orchard garden, a haven for children, and a large lean-to play area means even if it rains they're well catered for. The property was spacious and comfortable and the position overlooking the sea loch was wonderful.
Mrs Davies, Biggleswade, September 2011
Size of the property was amazing, as was the selection of games, video and book library. Dishwasher was lovely too and some pleasant touches such as ornaments etc were very much appreciated.
Mr Case, Spalding, August 2011
The largest, best-equipped and most stylish cottage we had on our trip to North West Scotland. It was really remote with beautiful views, a lot to explore and so quiet.
Mr Ulmer, Hilden, July 2011
Spacious accommodation in a splendid setting. House used regularly by the owners, so they know what is needed for a comfortable stay. This was our third visit.
