  • "This was our second visit to Corriness Cottage and once again a very memorable experience."

It's a great location for walking and cycling in the local area with options to meet all abilities. It's also a fantastic facility to just relax, read a book and chill with a glass of wine in the evening.

  • "Excellent property."

There were only the two of us staying there and we were very warm and comfortable despite some fiercely cold weather. If there had been six of us the cutlery and crockery would keep running out because there were only six items of each type. I would recommend a few more mugs and cutlery would make a stay easier for larger groups. It is a great location and one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Thank you for the feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. You made a very valid point, thank you, we have now increased the crockery and cutlery available. Kind Regards Ross and Louise Property Owner

  • "We had a great time staying at this house."

Very comfortable with quality furnishings and great heating. We cooked in a lot and had everything we needed. It should be pointed out that due to the beautiful remote location there are very limited shopping facilities, there were no cafes or restraunts open in Poolewe. There are limited options in Gairloch. This was not a problem for us, but be aware. Great walks, beaches and Inverewe Gardens lovely.

About the location

POOLEWE

Dingwall 50 miles; Ullapool 50 miles.

The pretty village of Poolewe sits in the shelter of Loch Ewe, at the mouth of the River Ewe where it tumbles down from Loch Maree. It is a pretty place in an area of spectacular scenery and is home to a well-stocked shop, small swimming pool and two hotels. The world-renowned Inverewe Garden (National Trust for Scotland) is half a mile across the bay from the village. The site was developed by the botanist Osgood Mackenzie from 1862 until his death in 1922. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, it is home to exotic plants, imported from all over the world – a must for all visitors to the area. Firemore beach is five miles to the west and north along the coast is Gruinard Bay with its striking sands; a series of attractive beaches skirt the bay and a number are easily reached from the main road. With spectacular scenery, mountains, excellent hillwalking, golf, fishing, wildlife cruises and much more, this is a great area for a holiday!
