Drummin is quite a rural village located approximately 10 miles south of Westport in County Mayo. The hilly areas around the village present an attractive web of winding, leafy lanes festooned with honeysuckle and wild roses in season. From the hilltops, superb panoramic views extend across Clew Bay to Clare Island, once a stronghold of the Pirate Queen, Gráinne Uaile. The popular town of Westport is well worth a visit with a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and bars, and is alive with traditional music and rich Irish heritage. There are also good fishing rivers within easy reach, including the Erriff River, approximately 8 miles away, and the Delphi River, approximately 6 miles away in the Doolough Valley. For those who enjoy a good walk, nearby Croagh Patrick awaits with invigorating hikes and stunning views. For a memorable day trip, why not head south into County Galway, just over half an hour’s drive away, with magnificent coastal scenery and the world renowned Connemara National Park?

The Thatched Cottage is a traditional style Irish cottage set on the outskirts of the sleepy hamlet of Drummin, 10 miles from Westport in County Mayo. Dating back over 200 years the cottage has a number of quirky features, which add to its charm and appeal, including uneven and sloping floors, low-height door frames and a traditional Irish fireplace complete with woodburner. The property provides compact, simple but comfortable accommodation with an open plan living area, cosy family bedroom and additional smaller bedroom. Outside, the lawned garden with seating offers views of the nearby mountains, while excellent walking and hiking are available from the door. Lovely character accommodation in a pleasant rural area.

Two bedrooms: 1 x family room with 1 double and 1 single bed, 1 x double with very limited access and floor space (room is approximately 6' x 6' in size) and access from one side of bed only. Shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. Compact open plan living area with basic kitchen facilities, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.
Electric storage heating, woodburner in sitting area. Gas cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, colour TV, DVD, CD/cassette player. Fuel, power & starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Cot & highchair available on request. Off road parking for 3 cars. Lawned garden to front with garden table & chairs. One well behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking.
