About the location

Ryde

Sandown 7 miles; Newport 7 miles.

Ryde, fondly known as "The Gateway to the Island", is the largest town on the Isle of Wight and became popular as a holiday destination in the 1820s. Today, the regular ferry, catamaran and hovercraft services make this lovely family resort accessible for all. There’s so much to see and do, catering for all ages and interests within the town and local area including a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst the 6 miles of super, gently sloping sandy beaches are ideal for bathing. Along the esplanade there are bowling greens, an ice rink, tenpin bowling, putting greens and children’s rides as well as a boating lake and paddling pool. With many other attractions within easy reach, Ryde provides a superb base for touring this picturesque island.

Wonderful place to stay, beautiful, peaceful and healing. The owner is the perfect host, friendly but very respectful of her visitors privacy. I love the place and will be booking again next year as soon as the 2015 diary is in place.

Miss Bagge, London, March 2014

The location is perfect for exploring the Island. The cottage itself is lovely. We hope to book again for next year.

Mrs Hogarth, Ashford, March 2014

The cottage was lovely and peaceful. We had very bad weather, however that did not really matter as we had a nice and cosy place to go back to. The wildlife in the garden was fantastic too.

Mrs Edwards, London, December 2013

Everything you want for a relaxing break!

Mr Collishaw, Bexhilb, December 2013
