  • "It is a lovely place."

    Nice walks possible directly from the cottage and it is very peaceful. A car is needed in case you need to do some (grocery) shopping or visit gardens and villages nearby. All are close by but a bit too far to walk.

  • "Brightling Cottage exceeded our expectations in every respect."

    The accommodation was very comfortable and we particularly appreciated the excellent dining room, sitting room and downstairs bedroom areas. The location of the cottage was an excellent base from which to explore the area and we appreciated the kindness and care from Rowena and Mary. We intend to make a return visit when we are able.

  • "This Holiday Cottage ranks 1st, on the ever growing list of places my Wife and I have stayed."

    This is a magical place. full of character and charm where ever you look. No expense has been spared to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds so comfortable; The kitchen is great and equipped with ever thing you need; The view from attached balcony from the living room is incredible; Excellent furnishing throughout. The Heating; Hot Water and Wifi was instant and faultless. The level of cleanliness throughout was impeccable! Lovely welcome treats which included a freshly made loaf. These Hosts really care! FANTASTIC!

  • "Delightfully quirky cottage in an extremely peaceful location, just what is needed to recharge the batteries."

    Ideally located for visiting all the Castles, Gardens and interesting little towns in the area. Cottage was warm, comfortable and has everything you would need for a trouble free stay. Welcome pack even included freshly baked homemade bread. I would definitely stay again if having another holiday in 1066 country

  • "This splendid cottage is truly perfect in all respects ."

    It is reasonably close to all necessary amenities, after all who wants a supermarket just around the corner ? Days out are well catered for with castles, gardens and the coast all only a short drive away. Our only regret is that we didn't book for a longer stay.

  • "We loved Brightling cottage very much we felt so welcoming."

    Such a beautiful place vert quit and a lovely garden and vieuws on the terrace. Every little thing you need in the house was there. Very nice sittingroom and bedroom/bathroom and walk in shower. Lots of steps in the house also in the garden but we knew that before. Lovely surroundings lots to see and to do.

Located rurally in Brightling near Netherfield, East Sussex is Brightling Cottage, a characterful, 16th century dwelling.

Oozing charm complete with a stone-fronted exterior and country-style furnishings throughout, Brightling Cottage offers a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, nestled within the High Weald AONB, and enveloped by pretty gardens and an abundance of walking trails.

Park up off-road and make your way through the lovely front garden, complete with a free-flowing brook, perfect for strolling alongside before a drink in the sunshine.

Head indoors to locate the galley kitchen, well-equipped with all the essentials for a self-catered stay, before gathering in the dining room as a four, with an original Inglenook fireplace in the backdrop.

Reach the sitting room to unwind and light the woodburning stove, before spending the evening out on the balcony for sundowners; the rear garden is also designed for an alfresco affair, perfect for hosting and entertaining when the weather allows.

As day turns into night, catch some rest from one of the double bedrooms on offer, one of which rests on the ground floor with a handy en-suite.
