Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and with lovey views, this was a great place to stay in Keswick. A special thank you to Angela, the janitor, she was so helpful and caring when a family member was injured following a fall.

The apartment was superb, all high quality fittings and well cleaned. Comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms and showers. The housekeeper, Angela, lived on site and was available to answer any problems which we experienced which were few and were immediately answered. The apartment is sited in the centre of anything you might like doing and the view of the hills is wonderful. Would we return? Certainly we hope we can in the future.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Howe Keld 5."

The only things we would change are that we would have liked advance advice of the "hidden" silverware drawer--we had to call to find out where the utensils were--and the common rooms were a bit cold at night. The views were lovely and the location was very convenient and the place was very attractive and had a wonderful selection of maps and guidebooks. We would return.

We thought the property was lovely it had everything you might need. The parking permit was very useful being right behind the property. The apartments are in a great situation so handy for everything, we didnt have to use the car much at all. We would definitely book Howe Keld again.

  • "Lovely apartment perfect for our needs - well furnished with really comfy beds & en suite bathroom for each room ( lounge sofas looked good but not particularly comfortable however)."

Angela (housekeeper on site) made a real difference. Drying room for wet gear after a day on the fells was great. We will be back again soon.

  • "This is a really lovely apartment."

It is warm and has a homely feel. The furniture, fixtures, fittings and equipment are all of excellent quality. A lot of thought has been given to the decor and interior design touches, which has resulted in great functionality as well as a beautiful finish. The property was spotlessly clean on arrival and very welcoming after travelling. The tea, coffee, plum loaf, basic provisions etc. were very much appreciated. We found it's location to be absolutely ideal and adjacent car parking is most convenient. We were easily able to stop immediately outside the front door to unload our belongings before parking up in the car park and making use of our permit anyway. Our car remained there for most of the week because everything is so handy on foot and there is, obviously, plenty of excellent walking from the door. We had a really enjoyable, memorable and comfortable stay in this high standard accommodation and wouldn't hesitate to come again if opportunity allows. The 5 star rating and review are fully justified. One specific item of feedback: a heavy door stop would be useful to hold the data locked sprung front door and fire door open - just whilst unloading/loading.

  • "This is a great place to stay full marks for everything except the lounge chairs which we found look great but not good for sitting too long, obviously this is a personal opinion."

Angela was very helpful and pleasant.

Would definable stay again. We had a problem with the heating on the first evening, and as we couldn't fix it ourselves, the owner and housekeeper came straight out to fix the problem. Great service. Apartment well equipped. Maybe could do with a few more hangers in the wardrobes and another board game or two. No complaints at all.

  • "One of the best self-catering properties we've stayed in!"

Howe Keld 5 is equipped and finished to a high standard with attention to detail. Location is excellent and although we only had one parking permit our friends were always able to park on the road nearby. Having a key code was great because there was never a worry about who's got the key. The view from the front windows across to the fells was a pleasure and more than mad3 up for the lack of an outside space. We will certainly book again next time we come to Keswick.

  • "Beautifully styled, fully equipped and with perfect views over the fells, Howe Keld 5 exceeded all our expectations."

From the key code entry to the wonderful showers, to the compact library, everything had been thought of both inside the apartment and across communal areas. It was such a joy to cook in the kitchen and eat breakfast and dinner looking out at the view, we ate at home most of the time. Having housekeeper Angela around for any questions was wonderful and especially when the fire alarm decided to go off for no reason early one morning. With many more Wainwright's still to conquer and such a perfect base from which to explore we'll definitely be coming back to Howe Keld.

The apartment is gorgeous, immaculate and has everything you could possibly need. Its so easy to walk into keswick and lovely being near the park. The best thing for me was being able to sit eating breakfast overlooking catbells. We cant wait to return to Howe Keld. Thank you

  • "We loved staying at Howe Keld, what a beautiful apartment in an excellent location, lovely views from the windows!"

So close to town and the lake (and the Keswick convention venue, which was the main reason for our visit). We appreciated a clean and tidy, well supplied, well designed apartment - the welcome pack was excellent, even small details were thought of eg extra toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, good information folder. The drying room for wetsuits etc was so useful. Keypad door was brilliant for teenagers coming and going at different times! Friendly and helpful house keeper.

  • "A very nicely decorated and comfortable apartment."

We loved our stay there. It was very clean and spacious. It's very near to Lake Derwent, Hope Park and town centre. We stayed there to attend the kewsick convention and it was only less then 10 mins to walk from the apartment. Only a couple of things to mention, we travelled on two cars so one car had to be parked on the street as there was parking permit provided for one car only in the nearby car park and property is next to the busy road that can be noisy in the early morning. Happy to return as we had a lovely stay!

  • "Lovely spacious and tastefully refurbished apartment in a great location."

Instructions on where to park could have been clearer as I felt very unsure if the central town car park was definitely the correct place (it was). And information in the house manual about where to put rubbish/recycling would be good. These are very minor quibbles though and the housekeeper answered any questions I had promptly.

  • "This is a fantastic apartment which has recently undergone a full refurbishment."

It has 3 en suite bedrooms, each with king sized beds and is equipped with all essential appliances. The views from the open plan living and dining rooms are sensational and is located in the heart of Keswick within walkable distance of all amenities. The property owner was also very helpful with my pre booking enquiry and ensured that we were greeted upon arrival. Highly recommended and we'll definitely return.
