  • "Very nice cottage, remote location but nice walks from your doorstep, not too far from Keswick if you wish to pop in for a morning or afternoon."

All the facilities at the cottage are more than you need. The mattress in the travel cot is really firm so you may wish to take a mattress for your little one or a padded sheet.

  • "Lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in tranquil and remote location, 30 mins from the Central Lakes."

Walking, rivers and a Tarn on your doorstep and a pub 30 mins walk away with a good menu.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a great half term holiday with friends in the cottage next door."

Perfect location for exploring the lakes. Great walks direct from the location and an easy walk to the local pub. We’d love to go back again. Highly recommended.

  • "A lovely cottage in a beautiful location."

We loved the walk up to Bowscale Tarn, and also climbed up to Carrock Fell straight from the cottage three times, following different routes each time. We found the mattress on the bed in the master bedroom not very comfortable, but the zip and link bed in the second bedroom was luckily much better. The cottage was quite cold when we arrived and no logs were provided, so I’d recommend to take a small supply of logs and kindling for the first evening. Once the storage heaters were warm by the second day it was very warm and we didn’t need to light the fire at all. The shower was lovely and the kitchen very well equipped. It was lovely to sit on the patio in the evening sunshine.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. The owner would like to apologise about the bed in the master bedroom. This was due to a loose bolt which has now been fixed, a topper has also been added for comfort. We are pleased you had a nice stay and we hope to welcome you back again soon! Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed a fabulous week in this lovely cottage."

Mosedale is a lovely, quiet unspoilt corner of the lakes with an abundance of varied walking from the door. The car parking area is spacious and both front and rear garden are dog secure. We particularly enjoyed the Herdwick sheep being herded past the cottage each morning- a delight! We will return!

Tonnes of hot water once we found the switch to turn it on! Couldn't fault anything and had a wonderful time exploring, hiking and swimming. Honister slate mine activities great for 13 year old! Can't wait to return.

The tarn and Carroch edge (really steep descent!) were good walks from here. We couldn't swim in the river because of the storm but next time! Thank you!

It’s spacious, the kitchen is well equipped and the main bedroom is just stunning. I think it would be a good idea to provide fire making materials for the first night.

Very well equipped kitchen. Rooms felt spacious but with a cute cottage feel.

  • "This cottage is gorgeous- views of the fells from every window, really comfortable beds, all the essentials you need in the kitchen, really helpful maps and suggested walks."

...plenty that go right from the front door (Bowscale tarn- a must for wild swimming especially if the weather is hot- nice water temperature end of July for us), swimming pool in the river caldew, brrrrr!, Carrock fell etc etc) but travelling to other close bits e.g. Helvellyn, Ullswater, Keswick, Derwent water really easy too. Cannot recommend more strongly!

Lovely cottage with good facilities. Dishwasher broke down on our last night but otherwise all was well.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that the dishwasher broke down on the last night of your holiday.
