The property

Welcome to 8 1/2 Church Street, one of the oldest properties in Ambleside, approximately 500 years old and Grade II listed.

Ideal for a family or a group of friends seeking an idyllic getaway, this charming property is pet-friendly and boasts a private hot tub, private off-road parking, and traditional features such as exposed beams throughout.

The house is a clever conversion of two cottages into one spacious holiday home, giving it a unique layout and character.

Step inside and make your way into the open-plan living and dining area, the heart of the home, where you can settle into an armchair or unwind on the sofa.

A separate snug provides an additional space to sit back and chill.

If you're feeling hungry, the fully-fitted kitchen offers an electric oven and gas hob to help you prepare delicious meals.

Serve up your creation at the dining table and share laughter and memories with your loved ones.

If the weather permits, take your dinner outside and dine alfresco.

After eating, change into your swimwear and head to the private hot tub to enjoy a fantastic soak as the sun sets.

As night falls, sip a drink in the sunroom and stargaze, then warm up by the open fire before choosing a film or series to watch together on the Smart TV.

When it’s time to rest, climb either staircase to reach the well-appointed bedrooms: two king-size rooms and a twin, all offering some rest.

In the morning, wake up with a refreshing shower or a long soak in the bath before heading out to explore.

A shop and a pub are just a short walk away for your essentials or a meal out.

In Ambleside, enjoy a walk to the dramatic Stock Ghyll Force waterfall, explore fascinating exhibits at the Armitt Library & Museum Centre, or challenge your group to a round at White Platts Miniature Golf.

Head to Windermere for scenic lake cruises, paddleboarding or kayaking, or simply stroll along the shores.

Visit the Lake District National Park to discover scenic trails, hire bikes for a countryside adventure, or stay late and seek out perfect stargazing spots.

Book 8 1/2 Church Street now for a truly memorable stay in the Lakes.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £400.

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside with its numerous shops makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and the lakeside at Waterhead with parkland offering lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach. A walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre. Ambleside has plenty of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes from great fish & chips to its two Michelin Star restaurants and all tastes in between are catered for.
