  • "Lovely cottage, very clean, comfortable & cosy."

We travelled up by train, so it was really convenient for walking out from the door and catching the bus.

Thank you so much for the great feedback. We too find that the cottage is in a great position to explore the surrounding areas and is only a short walk into Ambleside itself which is ideal. Kind regards, Chris & Mike, the owners. Property Owner

  • "We liked the clean and modern condition of the property- this was our second stay."

Noticed the fire in the living room area is still not working and the chair there is not comfortable.

Many thanks for your feedback. We hope that the lack of an electric fire didn’t affect your stay too much. The cottage has full central heating so should have been lovely and warm during your holiday. Sorry to hear that the seating wasn’t to your liking. Kind regards, Chris & Mike, the owners. Nice and peaceful with easy access to everything we wanted for our holiday. Really enjoyed our time and would recommend the property to anyone . Just a couple of suggestions that we thin would make things a little better for guests 1) Have some hand soap in kitchen as when preparing food etc this would be useful. 2) Only 1 toilet roll available - did not find any replacements - not sure if this was stated on the booking etc but we brought some just in case. Overall a very nice cottage which fully met our expectations - thank you very much Paul and Jamie Samuel

Many thanks for the great feedback, we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay! A bottle of hand wash is usually provided in the kitchen and bathroom, apologies this was overlooked. As a rule, at least one toilet roll is supplied during each stay. Kindest regards, the owners Property Owner

Only a minor thing, a chopping board would have been nice in addition to the glass heatproof worktop board. We would book again as the property is lovely but, the only thing that would potentially put us off is the fact that there is no washing machine. We did know this when we booked and there is a launderette nearby, but who wants to spend their precious holiday time in a launderette?

Many thanks for your feedback, It’s great to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We take on board all the comments and hope you will consider staying with us again. Kind regards, the owners. Property Owner

Impressed by cleanliness and facilities the first time and glad to see the high standards maintained ( with exception of mattress covers which were stained). Close to everything you need in Ambleside and as a poor sleeper the extra cozy little bedroom is really handy.

Thank you for your kind feedback, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Four Seasons Cottage. The mattress protector has been removed for cleaning and we would like to assure you that they are changed on a regular basis to maintain the high level of cleanliness that we like (unfortunately tanning products create a lot of issues that require deep cleaning/replacing of items) Kind regards, the owners. Though small it is really conveniently situated only a couple of minutes level walk from all the facilities of Ambleside. A great base from which to explore the surrounding fells. Easy off road parking and an excellent rainfall shower in the bathroom are big plus’s to the property. The cottage is well maintained and was very clean on arrival. One minor criticism; the leather sofa and armchair are very deep (for smaller adults) a few more cushions would be appreciated. We enjoyed our stay, thanks.

In terms of comfort, Cleanliness and the provision of facilities we were extremely happy. If we had to make any criticism which on a minor basis isn't really necessary, we would just like to mention the addition of the following comforts. Small touches such as waste paper bins, boxes of tissues, bin bags and spare light bulbs would crown a otherwise perfect stay in to an unbeatable standard.

Thank you for your feedback which is greatly appreciated and all your comments have been noted. We will ensure that waste paper bins and extra bin bags are provided. Heart Of The Lakes maintenance team are always on hand to replace lightbulbs and deal with any issues which may arise during your stay. Unfortunately we don’t tend to leave spare lightbulbs in the property as in the past these have been removed along with batteries from clocks etc. kind regards, the owners. Property Owner

Could possibly do with a bit more crockery but apart from that we enjoyed our stay. We couldn’t get shower temperature as hot as we would have liked but was working fine. Bed was very comfy with spare pillows etc supplied. No issues with heating, Hive timer ensured always warm throughout. The entrance vestibule was always very cold and wasn’t really suitable to drying wet clothing or shoes - well not in February anyway! Would still recommend and would consider staying in Four Seasons in future.

Many thanks for your feedback. The shower can be set to the ideal temperature with a pop up button on the right hand tap. If this needs to be altered, this can be done by turning the tap either forward or backwards to suit (instructions in guest book provided) As there is no heating in the small entrance hall, the upstairs landing cupboard can be used for airing damp clothing during the wet weather. Much cleaner than most Heart of the Lakers properties. Decent quality furnishings made it feel like home, close to everything but no washing machine kind of let it down. Hard to go walking for a week and not be able to wash stuff.

Thanks for your feedback. The cottage is situated in a small, private and quiet courtyard with six other properties. Privacy has never been raised as an issue prior to this year, but as it has been commented on twice, it is something we are looking into. Hairdryers will soon be provided. Some vertical/privacy blinds would be nice - as the sofa faces the car park we were on show and so not very relaxing unless the curtains were closed. We love pet free propertys - much more hygienic, thank you. But unfortunately during our 2nd week Juniper Cottage/next door had a dog which barked in the middle of the night and ruined a couple of days holiday as were so tired - not nice being woken at 3.30 a.m. on more than one occasion. Obviously this is out of your hands but I think you should be made aware that this can be an issue. Happy for you to publish my feedback if ANONYMOUS. Thank you.
