  • "The lodge was clean and comfortable, good heating and hot water."

Very good location, only a few minutes walk into Ambleside. Only negative we found was that the oven was very noisy ( a previous guest also commented on this issue). Enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted to read that you enjoyed your holiday at The Lodge. We are sorry that you found the oven to be noisy; our maintenance team and the owner have since tested it and is now working normally. Lakelovers Owners Team Property Owner

  • "Ideal location for accessing the lakes, however there are a few things we found to be lacking."

The bed is rather on the small side for two adults also there is only a two seater settee and one rather uncomfortable chair in the lounge. The kitchen was ok apart from the strange noises from the oven and the lack of knives for vegetables etc. overall it’ was clean and warm but we would have to think long and hard about a return visit.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you found some things to be lacking. The bed is a standard double however and the oven has been tested by both our maintenance team and the owner and is running smoothly. Lakelovers Owners Team Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again."

Very central to the town and great for walks. We just have two issues with the cottage, the first week that we were there the three days that we had the heavy rain we had no T V. Signal ,spoke to the neighbours but they had no problem getting a signal, l think the problem is with the aerial which would need checked out. Also the cooker oven when it heats up the fan makes a very loud noise, which does not sound right and would need to be checked out also. A part from these two issue we were very happy with our stay. Very quiet and comfortable.

The bird feeder kept us entertained, who needs television!? We'll certainly be returning.

  • "Everything was as described in the advert."

The house was very clean and comfortable, just what we were looking for. The added bonus was the parking so near the centre of the village and the lovely courtyard garden complete with bird feeders . We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

'The Lodge' is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac very close to Ambleside. Turn left out of the gate and within 2 minutes you are in the centre. Turn right out of the gate and in 100 yards you are on a lovely quiet footpath running next to a stream and wonderful countryside views. At the end is a park which takes you into the town. The accommodation is really very good and the off-road car parking is so important in Ambleside. Everywhere was very clean and the layout was very practical with all mod. cons to hand. The small garden is a real suntrap and a lovely place to sit with the many birds that visit. It is the first time we have stayed here and hopefully not the last as we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
