  • "Had a very enjoyable week in this well-appointed and comfortable property."

Just a ten-minute walk from Arnside railway station, making visits to Silverdale, Grange-Over-Sands, Ulverston and Carnforth very easy. Good walking routes across The Knott to Silverdale. Interesting shops and cafes on Arnside Promenade, and a very useful Nisa store a short walk away. We would have liked to see an opportunity to put used bottles, plastics and newspapers to one side for recycling, but there was no obvious facility for this.

The property

Meadowbank Cottage is perfectly located in the heart of the picturesque village of Arnside, just a short walk from the village centre with its shops and pubs.

There is also a very well-stocked convenience store at the end of the road, just a stone’s throw away, stocking most foods, wines and beers.

There is also a Booth’s supermarket in Milnthorpe, which is a brief journey by car.

A park with a children's play area is located across the road, along with tennis courts that can be booked.

It is also very close to Arnside Knott. The property itself is a beautiful, 19th century, stone-built terraced cottage that retains many of its original features, and has been finished to a high standard.

It has a sleek, fully-equipped kitchen, opulent bathroom, a dining room with a sofa and woodburning stove, and a separate, inviting sitting room.

There are two spacious bedrooms, one king-size and the other, a double.

There is a lovely, courtyard style garden with seating where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Arnside is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, renowned for its stunning scenery, vibrant wildlife, and fabulous walks both inland and along the coast.

It is located on the southern side of the Kent estuary with its own seafront promenade and pier.

It is a year-round location offering plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, sailing, paddle-boarding, and fishing.

One of the routes to the famous Arnside Knott is within walking distance of the property, or should you prefer a seaside walk when the tide is out, you can walk along the coast to the village of Silverdale, which is roughly five miles away.

You can also join onto an organised bay walk across the estuary from Arnside to Grange-Over-Sands.

About the location

ARNSIDE

Kendal 10 miles; Windermere 17 miles.

Arnside is situated on the southernmost tip of the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where low limestone hills, marshy plains and deciduous woodlands characterise the surrounding land. This former fishing port has retained many of the features from its past. The beautiful pier and port areas of the village offer stunning views across the Kent Estuary, as well as providing an enduring reminder of Arnside's illustrious history. To the south of the village are the 15th century Pele Towers, which were constructed to defend against the marauding Scots. The local surrounding area is a nature lover's paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. The internationally renowned Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve is also just one mile away. Guided walks across the Kent Estuary are available, showing the full splendour of the shore and surrounding area. Within easy touring distance are the Lake District and Lune Valley, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland.
