  • "The Flowing River is a very well appointed apartment."

The kitchen equipment was spot on and a nice large upright Fridge/Freezer was a bonus. Only problem there was the extraction fan. It ran but was completely ineffective and as soon as any cooking was started the fire alarms activated-even toast! In the Lounge, the large screen TV was excellent, as was the very reliable wifi. Bedroom was extremely tight for a double bed with a very tight squeeze to get around it. But bed itself was very comfortable indeed. Bathroom was also pretty good with shower-over-bath. Main problem here was again the fan. It NEVER ran. We had a major problem with the heating system. On arrival the lounge was 26.5degC and the bedroom almost as hot. The radiators were immediately switched off and windows opened the make it bearable. Once cooled, and the control system instructions were followed, the stat settings were adjusted but the lounge radiator never worked again for 6 days, so had to jack up the hallway heater and leave door open to get temp above 14degC. There was no refuse bin allocated to our apartment and there are no recycling bins. We had to take bottles, cans etc to Kendal! Two very kind Maintenance men came the day before we left, but not much they could do. They did find a bin and numbered it for us though (but still no recycling bin). They already knew the fans didn't work-said they'd been like that for ages! I fixed the heating problem myself on day 6 by removing and rebooting the main control panel after some google research!

  • "This place is beautifully equipped for a lovely stay."

It is really difficult to put the tie backs on and off due to the small space and the thickness of the curtains.. the curtain rail is also of extremely poor quality and came off during the tie back procedure. As the bedroom is extremely small... to walk around the bed takes some good manoeuvering... therefore we would recommend that the owners look at the curtain situation...

  • "We did contact the agency regarding certain issues: The bathroom fan was on constantly."

(Mentioned in the visitors book in July) The shower was dripping all the time. Over hob fan not working (also mentioned in visitors book) Central heating, we could not adjust. TV we were unable to connect to any station/programme. Limited cutlery and drawer difficult to access as within another drawer! Simple instructions would have been helpful, rather than all the instruction booklets in the file. For example, opening the main front door was tricky until we read a comment made by another visitor. We were very surprised not to have been left a pint of milk as is usual in most lettings, I imagine … we regularly rent holiday lets and have always been left a welcome pack whether it be for a couple of nights or a week. One loo roll!

Thank you for your feedback. We will ask our Maintenance Team to look into the issues mentioned. We take all comments on board. As the property is self catering, a welcome pack is not always provided. Toilet rolls left in the property is also meant to be a starter. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Great wee apartment in a quiet scenic location."

Weather was glorious and the patio was a sun trap from around 9am til 1pm ish when it went over the building. Good bus links close by at the bypass. Haverthwaite steam train to lakeside for Windermere ferry is less than 10min walk. Apartment equipped with everything needed. Previous comments in visitor book not addressed. Kitchen and bathroom extractor not working properly. No note inside front door to say handle needs pulling up to engage lock. Soundproofing poor, could here upstairs apartment stomping about from around 7.30am, double glazing poor, could hear traffic on bypass. Overall it was an enjoyable 4 night stay and good value for money, better than a hotel room.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad the apartment had everything you needed and that you enjoyed your stay. The bathroom extractor is an 'always on' extractor that runs virtually silently and clears any steam steadily during the day. We will add some notes about how to operate the locking mechanism on the front door. We hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

Barely space to even move around the bed... Windows aren't soundproof so can hear road noise and noise from neighbours. Otherwise its a really nice flat, very modern and clean with all facilities needed.

  • "Add to the welcome pack instructions on where to find the cutlery - it is kept in the ‘secret drawer’ that I found about by ringing the office the next day after our arrival."

I looked in all cupboards, including the dishwasher and could not find any cutlery. I had to stoop down to actually see the ‘secret’ drawer as it was described to me. Apart from that the stay was fab.

Location of smoke detectors bad because of when a slice of toast was done smoke alarm went off ,other people in the other apartments was going off too. Location fabulous no supermarkets nearby over a mile to walk no car for a week so difficult

  • "Lovely location with good view of the river."

Good spot for local attractions. Apartment small but clean and mostly well maintained. I do think the bath is leaking slightly underneath though and extractor fan didn't seem to be working. It also would have been nice to be informed that would have builders right outside our door banging and drilling at 9am mon-thurs every morning and covering door and door handle with dust etc.

We would like to thank you for your lovely feedback. We apologise that you were not made aware of the work going on in the building. The management company regularly maintains the communal areas but we will be asking them to inform us in future. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Property Owner

We have had very good stays both times. The property is clean, comfortable and has great access to lots of local attractions. We love that it is right on the river - so relaxing! Parking is great. Lots of lovely walks near by. It's nice and tucked away even though it's close to main roads so a really nice place to have a bit of a 'busy life detox'. We would highly recommend coming here. And we will be back time and time again. We love it here!

Location is great for exploring Windermere and Coniston. Short walk to the Motor museum, Haverthwaite steam railway and Aquarium of the Lakes are a short drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in late November and will be coming back as soon as we are able.

  • "Had a lovely 4 night stay at Flowing River."

Immaculately clean, comfy and well equipped. Some fab walks straight off the doorstep and there is the steam train and ferry to explore by if it takes your fancy. The White Hart Inn at Bouth is a 5-10 minute drive away. Nice setting and does food. Nice to be away in a quiet spot away from the busy throng of the main tourist areas. A great base to explore from.

  • "Property was beautiful."

Very clean and really liked the little touches such as the dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cloths left for us. Only downside was the instructions for the key safe. It took a while and a phone call to find the correct key safe. Where it was placed was the furthest away from the building and not clear enough in the instructions! Apart from that it is set in a beautiful place with stunning locations in the surrounding areas.

  • "The property is well situated and the surroundings are very picturesque."

It was an ideal area to explore this part of Cumbria. The property had everything required for our stay but one of the downsides for us was that that the bed was quite small and as a result we didn't sleep well. The settee in the lounge is the only "comfortable" place to relax in an evening and because of the style it was quite uncomfortable causing back & neck ache. Sadly having little sleep and being unable to relax before bed we have come home quite tired. As an observation the curtain rails are a very poor quality and are failing so it is quite difficult to draw the curtains properly.

It had everything we needed for our stay. We also appreciated the Welcome Pack awaiting us. It was sufficiently spacious enough for my Wife and I, with a lovely Shower/Bathroom. We had a lovely peaceful, relaxing stay. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a Break in the Lake District.

  • "Clean and well equipped."

The location is excellent. The apartment is cold but this might be because the flats around are unoccupied and not heated, when the heating goes off it drops cold very quickly. The equipment throughout is great and well maintained, TV and Wifi are brilliant, as are washer/dryer and dishwasher, oven, hob etc. The Bathroom is large and spacious, the bedroom is tiny but there is plenty of storage. It's the perfect pad for 1 to 2 people.

Thank you for the great feedback - much appreciated. We leave the heating on timer so it is warm for arrival. We then encourage guests to adjust the heating to suit their needs using the panel in the hallway - all instructions are provided in the guest folder. It can get pretty cold in the Lakes at this time of year but the apartment is toasty warm with all the radiators on! Property Owner
