  • "We had an amazing stay here, the view is spectacular and the highlights for our 2 children were jets flying over the lake & deer that came to visit us."

An added bonus for us on the rainy days we were there was the game/puzzle cupboard which we all enjoyed exploring playing games & puzzles. Everything was really comfortable and nothing was lacking, all the comforts of home.

  • "We were disappointed that maintenance was lacking."

We had already noted that there were cracked tiles on the floor of the main room. They caused us no dismay whatsoever. However, to find that the cooking hob was damaged was rather distressing though we were relieved to discover that it did not impair its use. The fridge was another matter. The place where upright bottles can be stored was missing and when we laid flat our milk containers, they leaked, as we would expect. Not only did we lose milk, we lost space for other items in the fridge and we were left with a small cleaning operation. We do intend to return - the house is wonderful, comfortable, and large enough for us. But I very much hope that repairs will be seen to before then.

The only issue is highlighted below:- The patio door out to the balcony needs attention. It can be very difficult to open and close plus the lock does not work.

  • "We had a lovely time at Lauren’s View."

The view from the lounge is unbelievable and sitting watching the fighter jets go over was wonderful. There were just a couple of things where improvements could be made, the tiling on the kitchen area and shower rooms need addressing. Also, the previous occupants had left the oven dirty. This didn’t affect us though as we didn’t do any cooking, we ate out at the lovely restaurants nearby and we can highly recommend a night at the Cafe Italia, it is superb.

  • "The property without a doubt is lovely with stunning views and very clean."

It's location is perfect so you can walk out to eat and drive anywhere easily. The facilities for adults are also great. Our one let down is that we chose this house over others as it said it had facilities for a baby as in a cot and a high chair. The high chair was very stained and dirty underneath. The cot which we had to assemble ourselves although pre requested was very basic and way too low for a small baby, plus we brought our own sheets as requested but there was no mattress so ended up useless. We definitely would recommend for adults and families without babies

  • "This was our second visit to this house and it's still a fantastic place to stay."

The house is showing signs of use now the patio doors on to the balcony has been mentioned by other guests as being problematic and I agree. They work okay if you are very gentle with them but if you try to close them in the wrong way the bottom bar on the door moves to a position where the door will not close unless you open it fully and close it again also the key lock didn't always engaged. The general cleaning is okay but the windows are not being cleaned at all which considering the main selling point of the house it's disappointing.

  • "Overall the property was lovely."

The house and the views were even better than the listing described. The house was well-appointed and super comfortable. There were a couple of issues, though - it seemed like most of the cutlery/crockery was only half-washed, and the coffee machine was full of used coffee capsules. We had to clean these things before using them. We also had a problem with the heating when we arrived, meaning we didn't have heating on our first evening. The Lakelovers team were great, though, and sent the maintenance team late that first evening to fix the boiler.

  • "What. A."

View. Not sure there is a better view of Lake Windermere for a holiday. Great access to walking into town. However, the superking bed was absolutely dreadful, resulting in a poor night’s sleep and a sore back each morning. The central heating constantly required turning up the due to the lack of blinds or curtains on the two huge windows. This is important during a November holiday. Finally, the only teapot available - which took some looking for - was missing the lid. Even given the amazing location, not sure I’d come back. It is definitely not a luxury holiday home.

Thank you for your feedback. We have ordered a new teapot to replace the missing top. Sorry to hear you found one of the beds uncomfortable, obviously this is a personal preference and we have previously had positive feedback but will look into your concerns. Thanks Property Owner

  • "Its all about the view!"

We were very fortunate with the weather and spent long afternnons on the balcony just chilling. The house is also superb although we spent very little time in it apart from sleeping. I think it would make a lovely winter stay too. We had my elderly mother with us & she found the access very difficult. I blame myself though as I looked at picture & thought the ramp would be fine for her walkig aid, not noticing there were still steps to be negotiated. I'll check with you beforehand next time!

  • "The property is in a stunning location and the balcony / terraced areas cannot be faulted."

However, points to note are as follows: 1-Cleaning was poor around the general kitchen/dining area with crumbs and debris still visible and numerous hand prints/streaks also still visible on the picture window. 2-No welcome pack, kitchen roll, toiletries available. Considering the quality of the property we thought this was poor. 3-Beds were far too soft with the master being akin to sleeping in a water bed. Definitely needs replaced. 4-External balcony handrail screws need replaced as a large number were missing, loose or held in by tape. If I could have found a screwdriver I'd have done it myself.

  • "Beautiful house in lovely location."

Bit disappointed about the cleanliness as fridge was very dirty and place was full of dust with lots of hand prints all over the big window. End up cleaning the windows which is definitely not something you want to do during your holiday. I would also suggest adding some handles in showers as our elderly parents struggle a lot with daily washing. Generally had a lovely relaxing time. Thank you

  • "The property and Lake Lovers were brilliant."

Surprisingly we used the side terrace more than the balcony as it was so private and still very sunny during the day. Saw the deer twice, once standing on the dividing garden wall. Just a 5 minute walk into Bowness. Perfect.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lauron's View, lovely cottage with brilliant views, even saw the Red Arrows fly past and saw a deer in the garden one morning."

Facilities in the cottage are good and one member of the party had reduced mobility and found everywhere in and around the property accessible.
