Well equipped but would suggest a few more mugs and plates to make more efficient use of the dishwasher. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Willow Tree Barn. We are pleased to confirm that the owner has replaced the crockery. We hope to welcome you back again. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "On a positive note the barn conversion is in a fabulous quiet peaceful location only a few miles from Kendal and it has been done beautifully converted ,bathrooms etc, then stuffed with what I imagine is dozens of unwanted ornaments and glassware ."

The bedlinen pillows and duvet & cover were appalling, old and worn out ,again old stuff no longer needed by the owner and ‘ these will do for the barn .’ Manmade flat as a pancake pound shop pillows , brushed cotton bedlinen old and bobbled so awful that we went out and purchased cotton sheets and pillowcases .Certainly not what we would expect for the price of the rental, I have got better dust sheets . The towels were old & grey , tiny bath towels , my husband and I are slim ,heaven knows how a large overweight person would manage Communication with lake lovers was appalling .The fortnight before our stay I telephoned and e mailed Lakelovers many times requesting information that had been posted previously on revues regarding shortage of mugs plates etc asking if we needed to take extra ,I wanted to know if there was a coffee machine so that I could take the appropriate pads . No one bothered to find out and reply . I requested the contact details if the owner to ask fir the information directly , ‘ oh no that’s not allowed .’ There are indeed only 4 of everything .How does that work ? Use the dishwasher after every meal wasting water electricity etc ??? I purchased Nespresso pods with my Tesco delivery & they were incompatible. No coffee for us then. Other than basic china the kitchen is fantastically well stocked with all manner of utensils pans casserole dishes etc . Regarding views as stated on your website , I don’t know who thinks one small kitchen window with overgrown shrubs and roses and a brick shed blocking the window constitutes a view . All the other windows were either slits or roof velux . There are no views from the barn . The lounge and dining area is SO DARK that lights needed to be left on all day . So to be clear the fault is not with the owner the fault lies with Lakelovers misrepresentation in the barn description. Come on Lakelovers pull your socks up . We will avoid booking with you again . Re publishing ,you decide

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The owner has taken your comments on board and we are pleased to advise that the owner has replaced the bed linen at the property. Thank you- The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic week stay at Willow Tree Barn."

It was exceptionally clean, loads of lovely little extras we didn't expect like a bottle of wine and some treats, as well as practical items like hand wash, washing liquid and shower gels. The barn is stunning, modern, warm and had amazing views. The on site donkeys and apple orchard were lovely, and the seating areas for Al fresco dining were gorgeous and surrounded by the owners stunning flowers. The owner, who lives next door, was so friendly and welcoming. Our dog loved the barn too and enjoyed the many, many walks from the doorstep. Brigsteer itself is a quaint village with a fab pub in walking distance, and others just a short drive away as well as National Trust's Sizergh Castle and an amazing farm shop and cafe next door called Low Sizergh Barn! If you're not accustomed to country living, be prepared to face some tricky roads though and poor phone signal. For us it was heaven! My only flag to other visitors with dogs is that the grounds aren't 100% secure, fine if yours is calm, but ours is still a puppy who was overjoyed to see farm animals and got so excited he chased a pheasant into a hidden muddy bog haha. We will definitely be returning!

  • "A lovely, clean & comfortable property, in a lovely location with good off-road parking."

We enjoyed our stay. The only small criticism I would make, is that there are only four mugs, four dinner plates, four tea plates and four bowls. Whilst I fully understand that the property is for four people, perhaps a couple extra of each would be welcome. Especially the mugs! Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • "We enjoyed a great weeks holiday in The Lakes, staying at Willow Tree Barn."

The property was well set out and very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and access was easy. Only issue we faced was the lack of WiFi. Owner informed us of the lack of WiFi on arrival. There is also very little data coverage at the location. The owner was happy to offer us an agreed discount (cash back). The owner was quick to offer this, for which we were grateful. The owner was helpful. Willow Tree Barn is an excellent, peaceful retreat and good base to explore The Lakes.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad to hear you had a wonderful stay. I can confirm that the WIFI issue has since been resolved and new WIFI was installed at the end of August 2021. We hope we can welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Willow Tree Barn is the perfect holiday home."

It has everything you need, location is great for walking, or a stroll to the pub for a nice meal, if you want to slow down, relax and do very little this is the house for you. Other towns are not far away to visit by car or to pick up food and essentials. The only thing I would mention is the wi-fi isn’t that good, but it didn’t really bother us. If we went for lunch or dinner we managed to read emails then. Our puppy will miss the owner’s Donkeys he loved seeing them everyday, especially 2 month old Twinkle! We look forward to more holidays at the Barn

Thank you for your email. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay and found the property perfect for your visit to the Lakes. We have since had new WIFI installed at the end of August so we hope if you do return you can see the difference in the speed and service. We hope we can welcome you back again! Property Owner

  • "We had a really lovely week at Willow Tree Barn."

The location is great for the south Lakes' area and the peace and quiet is delightful. The barn is comfortable and, overall, well equipped. The views from the patio (which unfortunately cannot be directly accessed from the cottage) are lovely - especially on sunny days. There were are of cobwebs all over the cottage and lots (I really do mean lots) of big spiders! I'm guessing it's down to the time of year as spiders seem to be everywhere. At the time of writing (8th July) there is still no working internet service at the property, due to severe delays with it being provided to the property by BT. This is something that has been ongoing for several months with no end date in sight. So if internet connectivity is important to you then bring your own 4G router or Mobile WiFi/MiFi device and stick it high up on the lounge window – which worked fine for us! Mobile phone signal is very poor/intermittent within the house due to the thick walls but worked fine outside.

Thank you for ypur feedback and we are pleased you had a lovely week at Willow Tree Barn. I can confirm that the WIFI has since been fixed and new WIFI has been installed as of the end of August at long last! We hope we can welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Willow Tree Barn is lovely, great space, comfortable beds all the things you need for a comfortable stay, except for the lack of WiFi."

This review would have achieved a 5 star rating and lots of happy faces. Unfortunately, WiFi is key for me when travelling and especially when you could get no 3G, 4G or 5G in the area. Some people may enjoy having no access to internet, however I had booked Willow Tree Barn on the basis that it had WiFi. The lack of WiFi did impact our holiday which was frustrating. The owner of the Willow Tree Barn should have made us aware of the lack of WiFi, it is NOW clear to me that previous visitors in May had also suffered from this and I think it is unethical to list that you have WiFi when clearly you don’t. I have not requested any refund because the property and other facilities were of a high standard. All I ask in return is that the property owner warns guests that there is no WiFi prior to their stay so they could be more prepared.

  • "The property was lovely and comfortable."

It provided rest after a day exploring and walking. The recliners were needed after a day on the hills. There was plenty in the kitchen to allow us to cook from base. The little treats on arrival were most welcome. The bathrooms were of a high standard. The local wildlife and donkeys' were entertaining. We did struggle a without the internet access (which was something we put in the search criteria) as my son came along as we said we could access internet for his A level revision. We left on the Thursday as he was getting quite anxious that there were things he still needed to access. With the limited access and phone signal it meant a lot of walks outside for myself to check on mum who is undergoing cancer treatment. I believe there are plans to put better access in. It may be prudent to make other guests aware in case this is something they need to check on for family /work. The only other improvement is that some new pillows in the double bedroom as the ones in there are a little flat. It could be just my personal preference. thanks for a relaxing time

Willow Tree Barn was lovely to come back to after a day out and about...... it had everything you would need for your stay. The Barn is so cosy and warm that we didn't get a chance to light the wood burner!! The shower was extremely good and loved the Velux windows that we could open to listen to all the country sounds at night....but closed themselves if it started to rain! Oh! and not forgetting the daily ritual of feeding the donkeys a carrot....or two!. We soon learnt to ignore the SatNav which wanted to take us down every small windy lane around and found the quickest route to the main road that took you quickly and easily up to all the main attractions of Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere, and Keswick which although the main route was very scenic. All in all, we had a lovely week and would not hesitate to return!
