Our autistic son loved; the views, beach and ofcourse the hot tub. It’s in a perfect location if you want a relaxing getaway.

  • "Property was lovely fabulous views, everything provided that you could need."

Directions were comprehensive and easy to follow, however, the lane down to the property is unadopted and challenging. The hot tub as perfect and our autistic grandson loved it, however he struggled with intermittent WiFi.

Thank you for your feedback glad you had a lovely stay, we will look into the WiFi and see if we can improve it. Property Owner

Clean, tidy with a lovely view. Some noise from next door with chainsaw, drilling and hammering. The access road to the property is awful.

  • "Stunning location with breathtaking views."

Beautiful property. The road is as described in the information, not for the feint hearted but then if it was a perfect road, it wouldnt be a perfect place as it would be flowing with visitors which would totally spoil it. We absolutely loved everyting about the chalet and would highly recommend it. We were blessed with the most beautiful weather and we watched the most stunning sunsets for a week. We did not put the tv on once! Why would you with views like that! Hot tub was thoroughly enjoyable

It was very comfortable and spotless. Lovely garden to relax in out back. Our only down side to our break was the single track bumpy road down to chalet which put us off going out and about incase car got damaged but this is no fault of the owner. I would give chalet marks 10 out of 10.

  • "I booked this cottage as a surprise 70th birthday present for my partner Wendy."

She knew we were going away but not the destination. All she knew is that there was a hot tub. To say she was pleased is an under statement. A lovely comfy, cosy cottage with fabulous views. Despite the weather we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your cottage. My big one next year so hopefully we will be back. Thankyou. Ian & Wendy. Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

  • "Very nice place to stay."

Very comfortable. We would have liked to have a chair at the table for every member of our party ( we were 3, only 2 chairs, so family meals had to have someone standing). Please mention there are no extra towels for the hot tub. We would have brought some with us.

Hi thanks for the feed back sorry about the extra chair I forgot to put it out my fault we do have 2 extras. Thanks for the info on the towels I leave 6 but will consider leaving more for the hot tub. Property Owner

We had a lovely time staying at the chalet the sea air was bracing but left us both feeling good after our walks we only had one small issue we could not get the heating to work so we’re reliant on the wood burner and small oil heater for warmth but that did not detract from us enjoying our stay when it got cold we put an extra layer on and cuddled up on the couch Thank you for letting us enjoy your home we would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing break

Thank you for your feedback sorry about the heating it's now been reset it had been played with. Glad you both had a relaxing time, despite the heating issue. Property Owner

Well-equipped for a family escape, The Chalet provides a quaint hideaway for accessing Cumbria, The Lake District and Scotland.

After a day of rambling, kick off your walking boots and step into the homely open-plan living space, getting comfortable on the plush sofa as the alluring woodburner heats the space.

Cross the threshold into the kitchen, sure to inspire those budding chefs, where a selection of appliances shall assist with home-cooking and the washing machine means you won’t have to bring your whole wardrobe!

Enjoy the fruits of your labour at the dining table, taking in the far-reaching views towards the sea.

Wash away the day in the bathroom, complete with bath and shower over so you can best decide how to prepare for the day!

As you look to unwind, choose between the king-size or single room, each benefitting from ample storage.

The highlight of this property rests to the rear garden, boasting an enclosed space with an astro turfed lawn, seating area and covered hot tub.

The local area provides superb coastal and fell walking, along with bike trails such as the C2C cycleway.

Head into the heart of St Bees, where you'll find a small selection of eateries, including local favourite, The Manor, set in a rustic 17th century inn, serving traditional home-cooked meals and refreshing cask ales.

Continue further afield to Whitehaven, home to an exciting array of heritage waiting to be discovered at Whitehaven Castle, dating back to 1769, and The Beacon Museum.

For a different type of adventure, hop on board the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, journeying along a seven-mile line from Ravenglass to Dalegarth Station near Boot, in the Valley of Eskdale, in the Lake District.

The Chalet offers a splendid coastal and countryside break, whatever time of year.

About the location

EGREMONT, CUMBRIA

St Bees 2.7 miles; Whitehaven 5.8 miles

The market town of Egremont is settled in the Borough of Copeland, on the westtern edges of the Lake District. This bustling town lies at the foot of Dent Fall, with its make-up much the same as it was around the 13th century. The main street opens out into the market place, with the ruins of the Norman castle at the southern end, just above the river Ehen. There are several churches, a couple of supermarkets, arts centre, shops and eateries. Ennerdale Water, nestled in Cleater is the westernmost lake in the National Park and is perhaps the most peaceful of all the lakes. With no public roads running along its National Trust owned shoreline, it is the set well off the beaten track and is the least visited of all the lakes. The seaside village of St. Bees, now the start of Wainwright’s famous “Coast to Coast” Walk, features a Norman priory and Elizabethan public school, as well as a nine-hole golf course and a host of traditional pubs. St. Bees Head is the only Heritage coastline in Cumbria and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, named after the village it sits next to. Abundant walks are available along the clifftops, as well as strolls across its sandy beach. Whitehaven is further up this beautiful coastline, an elegant Georgian port, nestled between the glistening sea and Lakeland Fells. Discover its wonderful parks and gardens and the Beacon Heritage Centre, where you can learn of the town's vast history. Muncaster Castle is 12 miles away, as is the Eskdale and Ravenglass miniature railway, and just over 15 miles away is Wasdale Head, the start of the climb to the summit of Scaffel Pike, the highest mountain in England. An ideal location for touring the western coast of the Lake District.
