  • "Fantastic secluded property for a friendly get together."

We'll equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, enough seating for all ten of us dining and lounging. As the weather was wet we made use of the compendium of games and had a great weekend. The owner's made us very welcome and we're available for any queries.

It has everything you need in a home from home. We were lucky enough to be there in the snow and it was magical. The welcome scones and goodies were very appreciated. We did not get to do too much walking because of the snow but bonus is that we will have to come back to the area to explore further.

  • "We had a very enjoyable family stay at Street Head."

All three generations were comfortable and had fun. The property was spacious with everyone being able to sit together in the lounge. The beds and bedding were very clean and soft which enhanced a good night's sleep. The water system in the bathrooms was, however, a bit noisy and kept some of our group awake. The landlord was very helpful with no problems checking in or out. We will definitely return!

The farmhouse is spacious, warm, cosy and well equipped - our family of eight were very comfortably accommodated throughout our week's stay, despite very windy and wet weather. The views from the farmhouse are beautiful and it is in an ideal location for visiting many towns and attractions in the area,as well as plenty of footpaths to explore the surrounding countryside. We also arrived to very generous welcome gifts ! Thank you Street Head Farm for a perfect family holiday- we hope to be back!

  • "We spent 2 nights with our family of 10 in total, for an early Christmas celebration."

Such a cosy, yet roomy cottage. The log fire, tasteful decorations and Christmas tree gave us the feel of a great old fashioned festive celebration. Nothing old fashioned about the up to date kitchen/diner though! Every piece of equipment you may need, except for maybe a torch! We had one but was wrapped up as part of a gift so phone light was used for dog walks etc. Bedrooms, bathrooms etc. all superb and cottage very warm and cosy. Thanks for the welcome gifts and we were sorry not to visit the farm but maybe next time! Mags & family

  • "We visited street head farm as a family of 8 adults and 2 small children."

It’s a beautiful property which the listing photographs do absolutely no justice to. We arrived after dark on Friday so it was a little tricky to find the tiny entrance (and the directions sent to us we found were harder to get to the property than actually just using the sat nav postcode directions) but we managed to get there. The property itself is beautiful old building overlooking some of the most stunning countryside views we’ve ever seen (although we woke to the thickest mist & fog we’ve seen so we’re unable to see the views till the afternoon on our second day!). The property was lovely, comfortable and warm and very well stocked. Great kitchen and bathroom facilities. Very comfy beds and lovely comfortable living spaces as well as a great big dining table. We loved the wood burning fire and great we had a fire guard too. Loved all the little toys and books for kids and adults too. The kids loved the VHS player and all the old videos, they spent hours watching them! Hot water was always available and the heating was easily adjusted as needed. Lovely to receive a beautiful homemade cake, tea bags and marmalade with fresh flowers on our arrival. Owners were very welcoming and kind. The whole family enjoyed our stay here and we were all sad to leave as 3 days was not enough time to appreciate to view and do all the walks and exploring we wanted to do! We also visited the Hare and Hounds Inn at Lothersdale for Sunday lunch which was lovely and staff great although was advise booking as it got busy. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely countryside break with great places to visit like Colne & Skipton nearby. Thank you so much.

It was warm and cosy with comfortable beds and plenty of room to chill out without being on top of each other. It has magnificent views of surrounding hills with plenty of walks nearby. There was a warm welcome thanks to owners of tea, cake, jam and flowers. The access road to the house is a bit rough on cars especially in bad weather, but we liked being away from the main roads. We had a lovely time and no one wanted to leave!

Some of the cooking equipment needs replacing, ie frying pans. there is plenty of equipment for use by 10 people but we did think the cooker was too small for the max number of people. Just one downside. The road leading to the property is a dirt track as it's on farmland. There are some rather large potholes , family cars should be driven very slowly to prevent any damage. Perhaps they can be filled in for the next people who visit. Apart from that is was a lovely stay.

The house, which dates from the 18th century, has been lovingly restored, with many original features retained. The house is spacious, with two sitting areas, and a large kitchen/diner. The panoramic views from the front door are superb, as the house is 1000ft up. Skipton, the gateway to the Dales, is only 15 minutes by car. About the location

LOTHERSDALE

Cowling 3 miles; Skipton 5 miles.

The charming village of Lothersdale nestles in a peaceful valley in the Pennine Hills, just five miles from the market town of Skipton. It was, at one time, home to Charlotte Bronte who modelled Gateshead Hall in Jane Eyre on Stone Gappe House where she was governess. Today many visitors passing through the village are walkers, on their way along the Pennine Way on the stretch from Cowling to Gargrave. There is a village pub which serves food and an excellent range of amenities are available in Skipton just a short drive away. Also close by is Haworth, and the Bronte’s home, as well as the famous Worth Valley Steam Railway.
