  • "An outstanding property with the most amazing view!"

    The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival. It has a very well equipped kitchen and a good variety of games, dvd's and books at your disposal (if you can be torn away from the balcony and the stunning views!). Spacious, light and airy, tastefully decorated throughout and with a view that puts a smile on your face, a spring in your step and joy in your heart every time you look! A wonderful place to relax and re-charge. What more could you ask for?!

    Great position overlooking Lake Windermere. Sit on the balcony just people watching and the activity on the lake. Everything you need is in the apartment. A well set out kitchen and two bathrooms made life easy. Overall a great holiday

  • "The apartment was nothing short of amazing."

    All the facilities were of the highest standard, the apartment was very spacious for a family of 4, comfortable, clean and with two bathrooms, one on suite. The views overlooking the lake are breath taking and the little balcony was perfect for enjoying a drink. Ambleside is one of nicest towns in the Lake District, and it's only a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. There is nothing negative to say about the accommodation and our stay.

  • "An amazing flat."

    Really luxurious and spacious. Had everything we needed. Fab bathrooms and a generous sized kitchen. Great to have the parking space and lift. Right by the lake and a short walk into Ambleside. We did some lovely walks from the flat and took the ferry across to Wray Castle for a lovely walk. Really helpful interaction with Mike (owner). But the best big was the stunning view from the balcony in the living room directly to the lake. We all loved it!

  • "Always a pleasure to stay here… please don’t ever get rid of the bucket chair (or if you do, please replace it with another)."

    I have mobility difficulties and it’s the only chair I can sit in - the sofas are lovely but unfortunately far too low and squashy for me. Mike the owner is always at the end of the phone if there’s any questions not answered in the info folder. Just completed our 4th visit, and now planning a 5th

  • "Over the last decade we have stayed many times at 16 Romney Grange often for stays of two or three weeks."

    Affording amazing views from the lounge and dining area, the apartment is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, thanks to an amazing house-cleaner, and very well-maintained with everything a holiday maker could ever need. The kitchen is completely stocked with high quality dishes, glassware and cookware. Over the years we have noted that every effort has been made to keep things fresh and updated. In our experience you not find a better-maintained or more pleasant rental property in the Lakes.

  • "We spent a whole week in this accommodation and me and my family had a really great time."

    It’s like home away from home. They have everything you need. It’s the perfect location if you want to explore Lake District. My children told us that they want us to go back there again. The view from the balcony is stunning. You don’t even need to go out if you feel like just relaxing as you already have a great view from the balcony. It took me a while from giving feedback as I got really busy after coming back from holiday but I really wanted to share our experience and not miss this opportunity of complimenting this property/ accommodation.

    Unfortunately illness forced us to reschedule to this year. Again everything was excellent so much so that we booked up for 2022 yesterday when we got home! The location in our opinion is very good and the view from Apartment 16 must be one of the best in the Lake District and with bus stops and the pier just outside alternative travel other the car is readily available for days out

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
