  • "We had such a wonderful stay at Lingmell House."

It's the perfect location, with easy access to Bowness and Windermere. We never had any trouble parking our car right in front of the property. The property was immaculately clean with comfortable beds and hot power showers. We appreciated the large dishwasher and American style fridge/freezer. The property was warm, bright, and very clean. The "welcome basket" was a lovely touch and we enjoyed all the goodies. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

  • "We had a great stay at Lingmell House - it is in a good position, betwixt Windermere and Bowness and we really enjoyed walking to the Lake from there."

The property was comfortable and well equipped - the property was spotless on arrival. We must also thank Sykes for their assistance too - at the address the front door is on a latch and we went out for an evening meal, pulled the door to - only to find my Wife and I did not have the key with us and it was left inside. After a nervous wait with a child in tow and medication in the property for them, someone arrived to open the door for us in around 90 minutes! The property could do with some minor paintwork repair to touch it up, but as others have said it did not detract from our stay. Overall, 5* holiday!

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that our team was able to assist you so speedily. We are glad that you enjoyed the property and it's location. Lakelovers Owner Team Property Owner

  • "This was our second visit to Lingmell and overall we had a brilliant stay."

We were looking at it again for a future stay but already booked for our dates so have had to look elsewhere. Excellent location and nicely furnished. Welcome pack is a nice touch and appreciated. The top floor bedrooms could maybe do with a small mirror just for convenience more than anything and in some places maybe a lick of paint but nothing major and it certainly wouldn't put us off staying again. Would definitely come again and highly recommend.

House clean, tidy, well equipped and beds were really comfy. Managed to park outside most days although not guaranteed due to neighbours and tourists. Ideal location to easily walk to both Bowness and Windermere. (But it’s a hill each way). Would definitely return.

The couch was so comfy and the beds were the best we have ever stayed in. There are a lot of stairs and as we had little ones with us they were not the easiest to navigate or keep safe. Great water pressure for baths and showers. Well equipped kitchen to make life very easy. Also fantastic location with everything in Bowness and Windermere walkable.

Fabulous accommodation in the best location. Halfway between Windermere and Bowness. House has everything you need, although maybe 2 toilet rolls for 5 adults over 7 days is a little tight. Maybe a discount could be offered for regulars ?? Beds are really comfy and the power showers are great in the morning. All-in-all a great house in a great location with everything around you. Thank you.....

Brilliant to come to a property that has sharp kitchen utensils as well as plenty of storage for your food stuff. Great to have TVs in bedrooms. A couple of things that would be useful in the kitchen is a lidded casserole dish and a yorkshire pudding tray. Hope to visit again in 2023...

  • "The property was lovely, well located with easy parking."

Plenty cutlery, glasses and crockery, clear instruction manual and little welcome basket provided. Bedding was clean, handwash was provided in bathrooms. The cleaners were still there at our 4pm check in which was slightly annoying as we had arrived earlier in the afternoon to enjoy coffee in Bowness therefore we had to go back out. Towels all had stains on them. I feel that these issues were down to Lakelovers not the owners. Overall enjoyed our stay.

The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch and they have also provided Netflix and Prime on the smart tv in the living room. The house is in a great location between Bowness and Windermere. It is a hilly walk either way but our 6 year olds managed it no problem. The house is a great base for exploring the area. Thank you for a lovely stay we will definitely be back!

  • "Our stay at Lingmelll house was very relaxing as the house was very spacious and had all the facilities we required."

The dining and lounge are big enough that a group of 5-6 people can sit comfortably without feeling cramped. The large fridge/freezer is great for a large shop. It did not affect our stay, but for clarity, the listing should state that there is an apartment in the basement (separate entrance) and also the back garden is not accessible. The location of the house is ideal to conveniently and easily access all the activities we had planned for our stay. Bowness & Windermere Centre are within 15-20 mins walk. We had a great time on Windermere lake cruise exploring both Ambleside and Lakeside. The steam train from Lakeside to Haverthwaite was enjoyable. A couple of local walks to Orrest Head and School Knott allowed us a  broad & beautiful view of Lake Windermere and of the surrounding fells. We had a great couple of days kayaking on lake Windermere and cycling to Wray Castle having hired both from the Windermere Canoe Kayak centre in Bowness. The efficient and fairly priced ferry service from Bowness to the other side of the shore allows easy access to further sites & attractions . We all had an amazing week and can’t wait to be back to the amazing Lake District.

The house was clean and very well equipped with everything we needed for a lovely family break! The bedrooms were very comfy and cozy and the living room was just the right size for us to settle down in the evenings. We had beautiful weather and most nights took a stroll down to the lake to watch the sunset and have an ice cream! Lots of walking, boating, swimming and climbing! Thanks for having us we would love to come back one Autumn to see the landscape at a different time of year!

  • "The owners have created a homely paradise for all visitors to their property."

We have stayed in various locations within Windermere and Bowness and we will definitely come back to Lingmell House. I would suggest to LAKELOVERS that your company supply a Maintenance Book, for visitors to list/add details of any issues at each of the properties you manage. That way smaller things like cups with "chips" or radiators with lower rust can be sorted/registered and passed to the owner. I understand that asking visitors to remove the bedding etc. helps your cleaning team, however when you are on "holiday" I don't really feel you should be asking them to do this. We are on HOLIDAY after all but I guess LAKELOVERS have decided to do this and not the owners. Saying that my only negative about the stay was the having to remove bedding, so pretty good if that's the only thing. Great stay, great property and great location

The location is ideal for a long weekend break, although an outside space would have been a bonus as we had fantastic weather , it wasn’t detrimental to our stay. Easy walking distance to Bowness and Windermere meant lovely evening strolls and call at the pub came as a bonus. I would definitely recommend this property.

  • "Holiday cottage in a great location in the middle of Bowness and Windermere , which was only a 10 minute stroll away."

Furnished to a high standard and had everything you need. The only downside for us was that we were a group of ladies and there were no mirrors in the second floor bedrooms and no handy plug sockets, so we had to go downstairs to the other bedrooms to use their mirrors and sockets, which isn’t ideal when we are all trying to get ready to go out. This could easily be rectified and make the stay more comfortable.

All facilities e.g. dishwasher, carpets, crockery, cutlery, showers etc. quality standard. Wooden Dining chairs look great but are very heavy to move. Be sure to specify whether you want the 3rd bedroom to be twin or double. We assumed the default was twin but we got the double. Beds very comfortable. We would have liked a chair in each bedroom.
